Hi guys,

Just finished my first M-ITX that I built for my best friend. He is a music producer who uses a ton of software for MAC and I convinced him to try to build a M-ITX with compatible parts to MAC OS-X that not only cost about $700 less than the MAC Mini he was going to purchase, it has a lot better specs.

I chose parts that were on the list compiled by tonymacx86 (thank you for all the help ). The info, software and guides on his site were invaluable for this build and I strongly suggest anyone trying something similar to check it out!

    Onto the build:

I recently moved and I can't find my camera so all the pics were taken with my phone. Sorry .

This case is a breeze to disassemble and work with.

    All the goodies from Newegg:

Motherboard and radiator in place (and a hairy leg for good measure ):

Phanteks replacing the stock Corsair fan. This fan is awesome and ridiculously quiet:

CPU Heatsink (installed with Gelid Extreme Paste), SSD and HD installed. Cables connected (it always looks so pretty without the cables ):

Pic from the back with Gelids installed (even though they are 80mm PWM fans they are also very quiet, and push a good amount of air):

Video Card installed (The 760s work with MAC without the need of installing extra drivers). Fits like a glove :

    Back view:

    All bezels back in place:

Success!!! MAC OS X Yosemite booted !

The max temp this got to was 52 under load (it idles around 34 with dead silent fans) and it's incredibly quiet (this is one of the things he was adamant about! His MAC cluster right now is very hot and loud!) We are testing this for a week and if it works without issues we are replacing 2 other satellite MACs he has with exact replicas of the Little Beast and then his base MAC with the actual Hack'n'MAC Beast with an Octa-core CPU, 64 gigs of RAM, 2 GPUs, a lot of storage, etc... The Hack'n'MAC will have dedicated Water Cooling which will definitely be a lot of fun for me . Next build we'll have the camera with so will take a lot more pics and do a lot more detailed work log. Have a good one guys!

Thanks Sleinous. This was a test build. If it works good, then we will build a real Monster.

Great Build! This case looks very nice with the windowed panel.

I'm also building a hackintosh using the same motherboard, CPU and GeForce GTX760.
Unfortunately, I'm having a hard time getting all the motherboard drivers to work, mainly the sound and the wifi.

Did you use Unibeast/Multibeast? Do you have any tips that you can share?

    Hi,
This is against this forums Terms of Service.  It is illegal to install a Mac OS on a computer which does not come with an Apple logo.

The Apple software (including Boot ROM code), any third party software, documentation, interfaces, content, fonts and any data accompanying this License whether preinstalled on Apple-branded hardware, on disk, in read only memory, on any other media or in any other form (collectively the “Apple Software”) are licensed, not sold, to you by Apple Inc. (“Apple”) for use only under the terms of this License. Apple and/or Apple’s licensors retain ownership of the Apple Software itself and reserve all rights not expressly granted to you.

    ...

The grants set forth in this License do not permit you to, and you agree not to, install, use or run the Apple Software on any non-Apple-branded computer, or to enable others to do so.

I advise that you remove all "hackintosh" references in this thread and remove all images showing Mac OS running on your computer.  Otherwise, you risk having this thread locked by a moderator.

    Thank you!
