*updated the thread title* going to RMA the board due to a faulty DIMM slot, then going to pretty much give it away cheap to someone that wants to deal with it. I can not knowingly sell this board with issues and refuse to lie to anyone that is interested in purchasing.

So, i just got this in after 2 months of fighting to procure a motherboard....

I am going to stream it on Twitch, as I test everything out, to see how it works.  I have been sitting on the CPU and the RAM, as well as other parts for far too long.

I will be putting it together late tonight, when I am tired of playing games.  Unfortunately, I only have the 750Ti that I butchered, so it will be used to see if everything works and nothing more honestly.  I will also jump into Team Speak if anyone would be interested in Chatting while I put it together, because I get REALLY bored REALLY fast.

If interested, it will be at twitch.tv/Scarlet_tech and I will start about 9am Eastern (That is 10 PM my time).

OOOhhhh...  I may grab a 5820 and a capture card, as well as that, for  the stream box... I considered just keeping the 3930k and getting an mATX board.. we will see which ends up happening.

If ANYONE has any idea what to do to get the OBS program to capture webcam footage, please let me know.  I have it showing, but it won't add it to the list of items it will capture.

I had a great time streaming. I got it booted up after you left, but now... After getting Windows installing, it is hanging on boot code 67, cpu dxe initialization is started. Tried repeating the Ram, resetting the bios, clearing the cmos, and looking for a bent pin. No luck so far, so I am going to bed and going to look at it again tomorrow.

Moved Ram from Slot 1 over to slot 3. I am updating the BIOS and all drivers from EVGA right now. After I get everything updated, I will try Ram. In all slots, to see if all 32gb will work.

Posting from the Micro now..  I can not leave anything Idle.. I couldn't leave it sitting there, turned off, doing nothing..  I waited 2 months to get to this point..  :-D

*edit* Installed all 4 sticks of ram..   24gb installed according to windows...  I think Lane 1 is malfunctioning.  Any ideas how to get it to work, or is this going to be an RMA fix.  If I can avoid sending the board back, I will.

*second edit* The bios recognizes all 32gb of Ram.... And now Windows recognizes all 32gb... Hmmm... I will keep an eye on this.

It's nice and clean, but not sure why the Ram in slot 1 hangs occasionally. After updating the BIOS, it slows down over that spot (code 67) but continues to boot. I haven't loaded anything onto it yet, other than the evga driver and Windows updates.

I need to tear down the loop, and install the quick disconnects so I can put a 360 or 480 rad in temporarily and see what this Ram and cpu are capable of, but I don't and to let it settle in first. am going to go backwards with the overclocking, and try to push the Ram first. It is set at 2400 from Gskill, and I want 2667 or 2800 if possible without voltage bumps.

The bios is super easy to navigate, just like other EVGA bios, so that is always good. I have been exploring it, and it is genuinely as easy as all previous bios to navigate.

The micro board itself has five 4pin fan headers, which makes me wonder why the classified only has 3 pin headers...... (aside from cpu and cpu opt of course.)

It boots really fast, even at 3.0ghz... It is faster on the boot than the 3930k at 4.6, and I think it is because of the SSD choice on the other motherboard, as well as the older technology being used.

The setup is crude... Really crude.... Right now. CaseLabs shipped today, and I also received amazing news (an assignment, will pm you) right after they shipped.

I will report back as I give this lady a push. The good thing is, I am going to keep this plectrum drive for the micro motherboard, and use this with a 5820k (if I can find one used for fairly cheap because it is a bad overclocker) and use this as the stream pc.

    CPU-Z Dump: HERE

I still can not get a hold on the Offset voltage.  At this point, the support behind these boards from EVGA is depressing, and I wish there were answers.  Hopefully the x99 Classified handles differently.

Aida64 has only been pumping away for 35 minutes, and I have to use auto voltage, which means absolutely no control, because Offset decides what random voltage it is going to offset to.

I am going to attempt to not complain about the product, because supposedly they are working on the fixes, but this is beyond disheartening how silent they have gone on the entire x99 lineup. Heck, they are doing it on all products, only picking and choosing what they will address..  Thankfully this will be my last upgrade for a while.

21 Hours into a stress test, Auto Voltage, and I tried a new method for installing the water block.

The averages are mainly important to me, as this is 21 hours into a stress test with Aida 64 running. Again, the offset voltage is killing me.  I am going to submit a support ticket in hopes to get some clarification on why this thing is so off compared to what it is supposed to be.

Another thing I have found.  HWiNFO64  shows the temperatures per core and then CPU followed by CPU package..  The motherboard does NOT display the hottest core like my previous board.  The x79 Dark displays the hottest core at the time of the reading, and the x99 Micro is displaying a completely different temperature than the hottest core (highlighted below) that is just labeled CPU through HW Info.  Which is correct?  If CPU is running between 62 and 66, which is the normal displayed numbers, but Core 3 (labeled Core 2 since it starts at 0) is at 80, why doesn't the LED readout display the hottest core like previous generations?  That part is confusing to me.

I am going to now work on taming the voltage on this beast, and getting it under control.

I am going to RMA the Micro when the classified arrives. I want to keep testing the chip until then, at least. Hopefully they get everything worked out, and drop a new bios here soon (haven't checked today, in case I missed it).

EVGA seems to be really good about the RMA stuff at this point, and they will ship back to an APO directly, so it is fairly easy to do, thankfully.  I am not too stressed about the RMA thing.   Once I have the classified, I will have something else to work with at least.

Unfortunately, I had unresolved problems (Bios, etc...) with My X99 Classified, So I decided to buy an RVE for similar reasons as to why I bought an RIV BE on my previous X79 System.

That is a bummer.  I am trying to get a handle on this Micro, jsut to see what the CPU is capable of, and... nothing... I can get it stable, restart, and everything is off...

How do you like the RVE?  If I send the Micro back, and it returns with another issue, I can promise that it will be the last EVGA board I own.

I am going to return the classified and eat the fees for restocking with amazon if they have any fees and if it gets here in time.  I am not going to continue to waste my time with a company that isn't showing interest in helping anymore.  Their answer in the support ticket was, "Please wait for a new bios to get all things working, and if the ram slot isn't working, please RMA the motherboard."  I understand RMAing the motherboard, but we are QUICKLY approaching a month without EVGA acknowledging that this motherboard lineup exists.. I am done with that.  the OCN users have been trying to help me out and evga can only say please wait.  Nope.. Sorry.  I will take mostly working equipment and crap customer service over nonexistent customer service and broken equipment.  I tried to keep my cool with this, and waited 2 months as my motherboard was lost in the mail.. This isn't good customer service, and EVGA should be ashamed.

One a much lighter note, I broke the EVGA FTW Folding team Project Rank of 2k, and team rank is only a matter of points away from dropping below 200.  Aiming for the double digits before I leave Korea, where it is about to get really cold :Excited!!!!:

*Addition* I just posted my first 1 star review for EVGA on Amazon.  I wish they would have paid a little bit of attention here.

I will even still look at their graphics cards, and probably upgrade to new ones next round... But, the x99 platform is done for me.

Here comes some more good news about adaptive.  I decided to give it Another try..

1.100 target +265 offset... 1.391v.. lets keep going and see how stupid this gets.
    1.100 Target +260 offset.. 1.386v.. That's logical..
1.100 Target +255 offset.. 1.382v.. at least that one was closer.
1.100 Target +250 offset.. 1.377v.. Finally, that is what I was trying to get close too.

Please let me know how the replacement board does, issues with specific DIMM slots almost always is related to board issue and/or bent CPU pin. In your case it looks like a faulty board.

I will test it before selling it. I actually took pictures of the socket with a Macro lense, and there isn't bent pins. I received the classified today, and immediately returned it to Amazon before leaving the post office.

Now to decide between the x99 Deluxe, RVE, G1 Gaming and other brands. I will be looking at reviews and customer complaints before buying the next board.
