Hello all,
I'm looking into getting a Xeon Westmere Six-core running on my Classified board. I've read that this motherboard needs 2 mods to be able to run them.
When I contacted EVGA about this, they said the modification is not available on my board but I'm sure I've seen people on the internet running the combination.
Can someone enlighten me on this?

what revision is your board ? my classified is in rev.1.1 and support the x5670 six core xeon...

It's rev1.0. You also have the E759?

Those are the only two you need to do.
Also, make sure you have the latest bios installed.
I don't know why evga won't do the mods for you, they should be able to do it for free under warranty.

So I contacted them again, this is the answer I got.
Hi,
this information is out there but we in the EVGA EMEA region do not repair or mod this way that model - there are descriptions how to do it on your own, feel free to do this at your own risk but this i snot something we do on behalf of our customers.

Looks like they are only doing it in the US or something. Guess I will have to find someone who can do this for me.

Maybe check out a local electronics repair place if there's one near you, and show them where to solder?

Yeah guess that's the best option, running a sixcore would be a worthy upgrade! Looks like it's an easy mod anyway.

I contacted them about my E758 Rev. 1.0 and they took it in and are going to do the mod/BIOs update for me. I would try emailing Chris (the customer support manager) and seeing if he can do something about it for you.
