I have recently built a 5820K PC and threw in 2 x EVGA GTX 970s in SLI.
Now I think the fans idle speed is a bit excessive at 1400 rpms especially since the temps are around 30 degrees C.
Can I somehow tweak that?
All other fans are pretty quiet in the case and it is quite loud since the case is on top of the desk and close to me.

    Will get onto it.
Also came across the FW update page
    http://forums.evga.com/EVGA-GTX-970-ACX-Firmware-Update-v11-m2228516.aspx

and is it true that the fans can stay off if the temps are under 67?
    That would be amazing.
    Any issues with that?

Its only if you have the ACX 2.0 versions of the cards.

If you have the ACX 2.0 that firmware does enable 0 speed. It's kinda neat. Makes my machine extremely quiet when not playing games.

Yeah its pretty neat, those acx 2.0 cards can stay at idle @ 40c with no fan spinning.

There is a firmware update for 1.0 also, but the minimum fanspeed for 1.0 is 35%

Hmm the cards are brand new. Could I swap for ACX 2.0 models I wonder.
