GanX44I have done so on my previous card and it works like a charm, however the one thing that has always bugged me is that once you open up that card your warranty will go void. :/ Sure if the card will be so overpriced that i nearly can buy 2 air cooled for the same price i might reconsider, but its nice to know that you are covered if something goes wrong.

Anyways that's just my opinion, if you see another way i am listening :)

Actually when I contacted Tech Support a little over a year ago, they were very clear about saying that you're NOT voiding any kind of warranty. All you have to make sure you do is send it back the way it was delivered. That means taking it apart and reattaching the original heatsink cover with all the original padding that was on the chips and screwing everything back on properly, (again) as it was given to you when you purchased it. EVGA is good about that.

Thanks for the tip! I had no idea :), but do you think this also applies when the card is purchased through a retailer?

As long as it's an authorized dealer, you should not have any issues as you will be sending any defective EVGA products back to EVGA directly. But just to be sure you should contact tech support yourself and ask them these questions…

Yea will do!  However i think i will still give them a little more time, i am rather interested in seeing just how much the card will cost and what speeds they get out of it compared to others.

Some of the prices here are also pretty insane. A EVGA GeForce GTX 980 ACX 2.0 is set for 549$, in Denmark where i live its about 767 - 852$. So yea the price of the Hydro might get to high for any normal person . I have never been one to build a cheap system but at some point things get ridiculous. I mean a new setup with a X-99 motherboard + CPU + DDR4 memory + GTX 980 and i can easily reach 3000$. (ofc this is high end hardware)

The main appeal for these hydro copper cards is that they are cheaper than buying reference card+waterblock+backplate

To me the speed differences are moot at best. I mean who cares that you can push 50 or 100 MHz more in your Core Clock & Boost Clock speeds. Now if you can get 250+ more out of it, then I could possibly see "some" benefit from it. I've seen EVGA's past series of cards where their Superclocked models ran their Core & Boost Clock speeds even higher than their waterblocked versions which was weird to me. The whole point of waterblocking your GPU is to crank even more speed from it, THAT should be the selling point of why you'd purchase one in the first place. Oh well...

Although that would be the idea, that's hardly ever true. These "custom" waterblocks ALWAYS cost more than doing it yourself, and I like I just said in my prior post sometimes they're not faster; defeating the whole purpose of buying one of these in the first place. I already gave you what I spent. Again, I paid: $569.95 (980 GPU), $124.99 (EK Waterblock) & $34.99 (EK Backplate; which I didn't get). Total = $729.93. Now I spent a total of $694.94 (again, no backplate - to me not needed). I'd like to see EVGA beat the price point on what I spent… they're not. Why? Like any company they're in this to make money, and all they're really doing is just putting an aluminum cover with their logo cut out of it (which does look cool), and charge you $150 - $200+ for it. Again, (to me) it's not worth it. Heck if I wanted that I could have someone do that at a machine shop (and I know quite a few of them), and put the Hackintosh logo that I use for my Avatar. Now (to me) that would look nice…

Awesome review. I'm glad that you can push this card well beyond what's been programed. Look forward to seeing what this thing can do once I receive my G-SYNC monitors.

Sorry I meant to say reference card+EVGA waterblock+EVGA backplate

I remember last year with the GTX 780, the hydro copper cards came out to a cheaper price than getting thoese three items separately.

My separate orders from last year:

Total cost = $863.94

This was way more expensive than just buying a single GTX 780 hydro copper

Couple things, will the specs be fully released prior to the release? What color is the LED, I hope these can be answered and not asking too much =)

Well, look at the Titan's, $1,400 (waterblocked) as opposed to $1,100 (Superclocked). I'd rather spend $130 more (for the waterblock) and do it myself and save $170.00, but that's just me. I see what you're saying though. Let's hope they don't charge $799.99 and they keep the price point at no more than what I spent on mine $729.00. Again, we'll see what happens, thanks for sharing...

Maybe you can answer my question? No one here has answered it thus far.

Can you confirm if this will support the EK-FC Terminal Bridge configurations for SLI?

I totally agree, but there is no harm in waiting a week or so to see what the specs will be.  I am really looking forward for this grade since i am still running a ATI 6990 that i put a water block on because that card was SOOOOO loud it would blow out your eardrums.

Someone could please help me? :)

I want to buy 2 GTX 980 HYdro Copper but I don't know which watercooling solution I should buy.
I only want to watercool the CPU and the two cards.

What do you recommend? And do I have enough power supply and enpugh space in my case?
Thanks! :)

My Setup:
Gigabyte Z77 Extreme Edition
Intel i7-3770K @4.5GHz
16GB Ram
BeQuiet 700W
NZXT Phantom Big Tower

Edit: I want may be colored 'water' or something with lights/UV/...

Hi TheParandar

Its not at simple as saying buy this and buy that. You will have to do some research yourself mostly to figure out if there is room. If i where you i would start with googleing "NZXT Phantom Water cooling" and look at some pictures. This should give you some inspiration.
If i where you i would not use any kind of color additives with your water. This tends to create gunk in your loop and your tubing will get discolored. Maybe go with some UV reactive tubing and install some UV lights.

EDIT: From what i can see if you have two GTX 980s in SLI their max power consumption load is at about 550 W. Maybe have a look at some review's yourself.

Definitely excited. Not that a jump from the 690 to the 980 will be all that worth it but it may not be to bad.
