Those are some crazy numbers. Might try a couple 980's in my next build, but may wait for the Ti version. I have also tested the task scheduler. It works beautifully. Looking for a good event. Let's get some good numbers guys. See you on the other side.

Yes, isn't this how it roll's my friend?
Always something better in the horizont, bigger and stronger. The curse of the hardware junkie.
However, unless you are out for the ultimate gaming experience, With a brand New 4K display, the performance of the 9xx series isn't exeptional.
The performance of a 980 over a 780Ti is sometimes marginal. I wouldn't sweat it.
When they merge 7series With 9series wu's we'll see.
So far GPUGRID has made special beta wu's for the 9series, and they Return nothing but small change in Return so far.
You go Fish Trout while dem kidz figure out how to make them 9'ers play.
You win

Yeah... that's not a Crunching badge!  Bad form!  Nice fish though!  Largest i've caught is a 85 lb bluefin...  years ago.  Now I'm just after Coho, trout and spinies... depending on the time of year!

Maybe Not But that IS A FISH and a really nice one.
Off my Subject now, but how long did it take you to net it and get it on board the boat?

Sorry for bringing your thread so utterly off topic, but it's source was old hardware will always be replaced by new and better stuff.
So, back on off topic, to answer your question.
The fish at the picture is as I said a Cod. Cod's are actually quite lazy, but they are heavy, and they go deep.
They go on all depth's, but this one I guess was taken at prox 200m/ 650ft. So you see it takes time to reel it in, but mostly because of the depth and weight, and not because the Cod fights.
The lure is also kinda heavy because of the streams down there, prox 1 pound.
Fortunately I have a great reel, A Penn Senator 114H (Upper picture).
The best thing with Cod is it's one of the world's finest food fish, so one of those makes one helluva meal, also enough to share with friends

I think AB is funning you Orange... knowing AB he would've PM'd you first to put things on track.  If I'm wrong... AB can ban me too... just for being me!

Hahahaha... Yes, totally meant in fun. I definitely would PM a "Knock it off" waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay before any banning needed to happen.

But... Just because I has sports car, does not mean I will not "Hot lap it" once in a while

Of course, we do need to be mindful of the TOS in all the threads... So I would start a new one or PM each other when the conversation goes past a post or two...

Back on topic!  How about that GPUGrid folks!  Have you seen such performance, such hot laps, such fishiness?  Kidding.... ****BOINK**** (rassafrassin' hammer... ouch... stop.... mommy!)

All in all though folks, with the COTM and the POTM now... there's been a lot of fun generated, new badges, new rankings and lots of camaraderie.  Keep it up... we are a small team but we do rock it like we be giants.

I thought the same but my 3 GTX 780 have no more realistic Folding Power as I have seen from todays' Projects.
My 2 R9 290X pull 169,210 for both cards or over 450,000 PPD. While 3 GTX 780 pull less than 420,000 PPD.
Credit per P13000 or P13001 is about 84,000 on the AMD and only 74,000 to 76,000 on the GTX 780.
10 Hours on the AMD and almost 16 Hours on the GTX 780, will post end credit when completed.

With this I see no future for NIVIDIA Video Cards and Folding.
They are still great cards for Crunching though.

One other bad thing about Folding is when you have a power outage you might as well start all over with a new project because your time almost starts over and your PPD drops 20,000 to 40,000.

So in other words I do not restart or kill the current project even though it takes 4 to 6 hours more to complete and a really big drop and a very large cost to Fold, it is no longer worth the my efferent to Fold on NVIDIA Graphics Cards, even the New Maxwell cards.

Completed on my GTX 780 Rig.
So overall about 12.5 hours to complete and around 10,000 points below the AMD R9 290X GPU.
Remember the AMD take less than 11 hours to complete.
03:20:11:WU00:FS00:Final credit estimate, 74021.00 points
03:17:17:WU01:FS01:Final credit estimate, 74162.00 points
02:50:44:WU02:FS02:Final credit estimate, 75491.00 points

Ya the 980's are nice, and they do have a hydro coming out in a month or something.. There's a couple 980's showing up in the top 20's but it's sure chucked full of 780's and 780 ti's :)

I just picked up a new 780 SC w/ACX for $325 on amazon, thanks to the 900's there's been a decent price drop from online sellers, mostly on amazon/ebay.

I have gotten two of my four GTX 980 SC for two additional builds that will be two more crunching/folding rigs.  My main rig will bounce back and forth, as they all may.  Want these up and running for the Winter Solstice but mainly the Year of Horse at the beginning of next year.  Should be a fun Winter.  The cold makes these events and rigs all the better at heating your homestead.

Yeah, they recommend the 344.48 for the 9xx in particular.
They have also added a Whole lot more types of wu's over at GpuGrid, so better be prepared.
geos52 should Upgrade..... The Charts say he's still at 344.11.
For some reason, short tasks seem to make those not-so-nice-blue screens here. But I'll work on those.
Also, my 780Ti Kingpin should perform better I think.
The rig the Kingpin is in, is not OC'ed. I think it may be related.
I'll figure it out, and I'll be ready for:
CRUNCHATHLON GPUGRID [MONTHLY RUN - RACE III]
I think we should grab this one
