I saw they were putting the pedal down over there.. let's give em hell! I've got 20 cores on the job right now

Good job dev.

I've got two new AMD FX-8350 rig's, but I'm hasseling to get the mobo recognizing a second vid card.
Going through checklist means silly downtime.
Hopefully I can add 16 new cores as of today.

They are highly motivated to beat us on this one.

Guess I'm going to have to subvert the other systems.  I'll pour on 8 more tonight.

Are we talking about POGS here?  I don't want to put resources on the wrong challenge.

Yes POGS. Looks like it's going to be close!

Apparently I have run this before because I already have points there... but I have no idea how much a system can produce per day.  In BOINC Manager POGS shows up as a 0 priority - is that normal?  The POGS website layout is so different I can't find where to set the priority, I can't find where to look at pending WU, etc.

If you go to http://pogs.theskynet.org/pogs/ you can find the "old" pogs website with the ability to change settings. It is what I use anyways, as I was in the same situation. I usually have POGS running as a backup for other projects running out.

Thanks sajinor!  So I see we need about 300 WU more per day to make up that 60,000 point difference... I'm adding 16 cores and hopefully  that will make a dent.

My phone just put out it's first 4 pogs wu's (finally works now) , roughly 100,000 seconds each. Not helping much but at least it's something.
I'll chuck my i7 and i3 (& possibly my a8 3870k if I can get it running) into the mix tomorrow to help you guys out some.

By reading the RAC numbers on POGS I was mislead, the numbers are even darker. (Big delay on POGS RAC)
According to yesterday's actual production, they gain faster than first assumed.
http://boincstats.com/en/stats/137/team/list/16/0/0
Their actual gain according to BAM is 298.767, and the gap between us is, as we speak, 117.161.
The efforts we have put in recently will not kick in immediately, so even if they pass us today, we will be stuck to their neck.
This is gonna be one helluwa race gentlemen

Sorry late to the party. 54 cores/threads Some WCG WUs to finish but some pogs did start.

Awesome!  That'll definitely help.  Just hoping the project can keep up with the demand...

Oh no... well got what I could going... let's hope at least it's not a total blowout!  I'll have to finish the 4P... I need to update BOINC on it since it's a fresh install.

All we can do is our best. They have 1.5 times as many active Pogs crunchers as us an 1 that could be the "brilong" of the project. If they take first, we tip our hats to them and continue to do what we do.

Good to see you here bill1024, because it may delay your steamrolling of me in WCG.

Very cool that this turned into a fight to the finish.  Exciting stuff!  I have been slacking this week but I'll get my 4p some more pogs action.

I added my i7 laptop to the mix earlier on today. So there is 8 more cores that will start popping out WU's in a day or so. We might just surprise them yet.

To be clear, that link is for the same POGS site that has always been. There is no new or old POGS site. The main site for theskynet is probably what you are thinking is the new one. However, that was the original project (and still main) site that hosted theSourceFinder which had it's own client outside of BOINC. POGS was their second project. As a matter of fact, they are recoding theSourceFinder to work  under the BOINC system. However, most of the discussions I have had with them indicate that they will have a separate BOINC server for it which is a shame IMO. So, to change preferences for POGS still requires you to go to the actual BOINC page that sajinor linked. The challenges however, are at their main site. I hope that clears things  up a bit.

Has anyone been able to queue up any spare WU with this project?  I like to have a few spares in case the Internet goes down, but no matter how I set my preferences, it won't  let me have even 1 extra.

I had the same situation as you, but was happy with it, since POGS has been a backup project.
I tried to change the min work buffer in BOINC computing preferences, no luck.
Changed the computing preferences in my POGS account from 1 to 2 days, no luck.

Changed resource share from 0 to 100, .......... Got 117 new tasks

Did this change on two rig's, big luck on both.

33 cores will be a huge helpThanks bcavnaugh.

Yesterday, they had a huge update, 958.482 points, while we had 612.155. that's a diff of 346.327 points.
However, we haven't got all that has contributed the last day. I believe this day will be much better for us.
When the last 24hrs' WU's tick in, I think we will see far better production from us.
Remember, in Aug POTM, our daily production peaked at 886.029 points, so we are able to hammer down some serious numbers if we really want.
