Ort control them where they aren't controlled by the voltage? I don't need them for voltage and wouldn't mind adding them to my case decorations by setting them to flash or something.

The lights are not controlled outside of the PCB. They are on or off (meaning there is an issue) and no other way to change them other than covering them with tape or a like substance.

Think some wire modding could get them to alternate and flash with a pattern? like a switch and some wires?

Anything is possible without a warranty on the card, the question would be, why?  You could easily just put lights in your case and cover those.  These are very small LEDs, and outside of wiring in miracles, you are just going to ruin the warranty on the card, and possibly the card itself.

https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=437101983097537 I have lots of lighting I just need some of these lights that are active to be a bit more active.  Modding with wires is far from rare and I doubt something this simple will ruin the card since i have done bigger mods. all it takes is to be precise. As for warranty I bought the card used so not much warranty  to worry about as there's no telling what this guy did till i look closer but as far as we know the warranties voided  already and third This card i paid $850 for with a waterblock and a month later the gtx 980 comes out doing the same performance and with a lot less work and overclocking involved and a pricetag of $500. I will be upgrading soon and this card is a dissapointment as it stands (not because of clocks 1488/1836) so I kinda dont really care what happens considering i'm not selling it for less than $750 and with the 980 being around 500 this means it wont sell. waterblock or not.

The warranty is 3 years, and transfers to every owner, as long as the physical card is not damaged, and you retain the stock cooling and stuff as well.  I understand you bought the card used, with a waterblock, and not sure if you got the heatplate and the stock cooler, but it is easy to get them from someone else, and your warranty still has nearly 2 years on it..  So, in that aspect, "not much warranty" is completely incorrect.

Still could have included adjustable led's for a $850 and I will give it some thought. I will be getting the 980 CClassified or wait and get the 980ti Classy but I am more interested In making this card worthwhile. I however can wait till its out of warranty before I do some tweaking and stuff. Besides hopefully I can get some Ln2 by then and push the card till it dies.

These are meant for monitoring a functioning card. They aren't meant to be for lighting up the case. If they are on, the card is working, off voltage had been killed to that component keep it from causing damage.

If they were adjustable, people would simply turn them off and when the card shut off they would RMA it really quick when they have overvolted too far. These card were meant for being used with DICE and LN2, where the fog/steam is really thick as the magic is being poured to get the cards as cold as possible. These were meant 100% to be air cooled. So you paid for an $850 card for extreme cooling capabilities.

However anyone with the know how will not need those lights too know what is wrong with the card and in fact it isn't even a factor for most who don't know how. plus disabling protections when not under DICE/Ln2 will send the card to tripping protections and 3 of those lights will in fact shutdown everytime as if something is wrong when in fact the card is just tripping OCP. The bios incorporated with the card on the Ln2 setting isn't even good and has to be modded to oblivion and that tells me that unless you are Ln2 period this cards a bust unless you have the know how. In other words the lights are useless.

My cards overclock quite well on the EVGA modified bios, which isn't applicable to the K|ngp|n cards. If you use the K|ngp|n bios then technically you are using the bios meant for the card (granted, it would be for ln2) because it is by the person that helped design it to extract the best possible from the card.

Whether people use the lights or not, that is what they are designed for. If you don't want them, remove them with the warranty. That is what they are there for. Or simply cover them. You said there wasn't a warranty left and you are trying to justify modifying them. It won't be my money or EVGAs money wasted if something goes wrong, so go for it.

    P. S. You don't have to quote, lol. We are the only two talking, so I know you are responding to me.

Lol i am trying to justify it and as to the lights they really are unimportant but i wanted to make sure the card is still worth its value while getting my post count higher. I quote because i'm used to Overclock.net which is where i'm primarily at as I'm djthrottleboi on there its a lot of work I do so quoting  has become quite the habit as I work with so many people.

LOL. I love OCN. YES, you can justify it, but it would be so much easier to cover them and keep the warranty. If you were adding an E Power board (I know it isn't meant for these as the board is technically built with it already.)

I am all about keeping the warranty until it is gone, and then going ballistic on the card. I just don't want to do something and have it go bad (with the card, not the modification) with a card that has 2 years I could have used to send it back.

I can bet if someone cross from so fast card as GTX780Ti K|NGP|N Classified on GTX980 he will experience weaker card...
Except maybe on Classified model. For next card I need at least 6-8GB Video Memory and minimum 50% even 60% faster than Titan Black reference.
Because mine card is 15-20% faster than Titan Black and 30% upgrade is barely visible in gaming.

I'm actually waiting on a K|NGP|N version of the 980 before I upgrade. When that comes this one will go to a special project named Throttle meets Ln2 for the first time.
