As title states, When I put my PC into sleep mode and hit the power button to turn it back on, the screen remains blank. I did not have this issue with my old card EVGA 480 gtx.

Mobo is a EVGA E758-A1 3-Way SLI (x16/x16/x8) LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard

I did check power management under 3d settings, it was set to adaptive, I changed it to prefer maximum performance.

Any ideas?

What is the PCB revision number on your X58 motherboard? (lower left corner)

Pretty much any GPU above a 500 series will not resume from S3 sleep on the E758 and apparently just about every other EVGA X58 board. This has been reported many times and I don't see a fix in the works. Basically upon resume, the GPU is not reinitialized and the drivers do not load resulting in a blank screen then a memory dump. I've resigned myself to using hibernate until I update this system. This is on two rev 1.2 boards.

I have the same problem with the E757 / EVGA X58 SLI LE (P/N: 141-BL-E757-TR, Rev 1.0) and EVGA GeForce GTX 750Ti.

I didn't have the problem with a GeForce GTX 275.

6-mo-old post and still no word on anything all (fixed / can't fix / won't fix)?

I also noticed the same issue with my old EVGA X58 board when I upgraded from my 560 Classified to 760 FTW. But I recently upgraded to a Z97 board and everything was solved.

Nope - I'm sure that's a solution to someone's problem, it just isn't a solution to this problem.
If I wanted to shut down or hibernate, I would do so.

If the technology worked as designed, I'd be putting the machine to sleep 100 times between reboots. Hibernation is the next best option (if that even works reliably), but that's a lot of disk thrashing to restore state for what is essentially already saved work.

I had the same problem with my previous rig (770 classy SLI with sandy bridge on a P67 board). From then on, I have just been shutting down the PC instead of putting it in sleep mode.

I have the same issue just replaced my 480 FTW HC (SLI) with 970 SLI and even tested with 980 and same issue present with S3 Sleep which worked no problem with my 480s

I see Feb --> Nov with no further replies from EVGA.... Not cool, with seeing this it is very likely my next mainboard (soon) will be Asus or ASRock.

To provide further details, the PC will enter sleep as normal but upon wake up the GPU / Video is not present. The PC can be accessed remotely (RDP) or controlled via RPC connections and shutdown / logged off etc. So it is just the fact the GPU isn't waking up. I guess I never knew this to be a problem because I was still using the 480 series which seems to be the last series that worked with S3 sleep.

Sure I can shutdown my computer however with RAID and my keeping a lot of active work open it pisses me off that it no longer works properly. No BIOS update for X58 SLI since 2011......

I have a classified k motherboard - whenever the computer hibernates - either because I put it there or it goes there because power settings - it never wakes.  I get the bios splash screen then nothing else.
