I'm running my system for almost 3 years, added a ssd about a years ago, everything is good until recently after windows 7 logo blinking then black out, it took my at least 3 minutes for the windows welcome screen show up. during this 3 minutes black out, there is no signal to the monitor. I decided to upgrade my video card from GTX 260 to 2X R9 280X then re-install the OS and trying to solve the problem. However there are more issues coming up and give me tons of headache so I am hopping to get some help:

1. after 2 new video card added and with new installed Win7, the system goes to welcome screen fairly quick. however the mouse and keyboard are not responding. I have to stared at the password box for 5 mins then my mouse and keyboard kicked in. It happened every time when I turn on my computer. I can see the system is still working because the mouse on the password box is slashing, but I cant move it. If I reboot , there is no wait time and both mouse and keyboard function right when I see the welcome screen. There is no driver for keyboard and I delete and install mouse driver but no luck.

2. After I reinstall win7, system is very unstable, occasionally blue screen when surfing internet and it mention marvel in the BS description. I install the driver for chipsets, marvel controller and usb3 but BS still bother me. I recently updated the BIOS but still no help...

3. Also I noticed when system goes into sleep or hibernate, there is no way to wake it up.... No matter I click the mouse or keyboard, only mouse light up but keyboard and monitor kept dark. I have to make sure it do not fall asleep, or ... hit the restart... This is retarded!

4. 2 PCIe slots are to close and I can hear the fan on card 1 is rubbing the card 2 back plate.. seems 2 cards are not perfectly parallel to each other... I have to insert some foam to create some space between two cards...

I have the genuine Win7 and 8 and I have try both of them for multiply times but no progress. then I have try the RAM, SSD, HDD, video card on another system and they work fine. I am guessing next step I will unplug the HDD and wipe out the SSD and put new OS in again and see if any problem solved..

Any suggestions? I deeply appreciated!!!

    Hi $uperNova,

Welcome to the forums. I have answered your questions the best that I can below and please keep in mind that we do offer 24 hour technical support to try and help you further. Support@evga.com or 1-888-881-3842 option 1.

    1. I would look in the event viewer in Windows control panel under administrative tools and see if there are any errors occurring.

I would make sure that the system memory is set in the BIOS when first starting the computer and if this is not set then I would set it to XMP if available.

Next if no errors and the memory is set then I would recommend clicking the start and search function if Windows 7 or the Search option on the right menu if Windows 8 and typing in MSConfig then hitting enter. One this loads I would click the Startup tab and then I would disable all and click on ok then reboot and see if this changes anything. If the above does not change anything then we know it is not a program starting in the background.

Hopefully one of the above will help, but if not I would also unplug any unnecessary devices or hardware to see if this is a issue and also update all of the system drivers.

    2. I recommend trying to update your Marvel Drivers and while we do not offer an update directly I have seen some posts with other users using a newer version. I included a link to their forum post. http://forums.evga.com/FindPost/2209241

Alternatively you can also try using the Intel on-board controller and if it is related to the driver or controller then this should also eliminate the issue.

    3. You likely want to do some troubleshooting on the issue as this could be a driver causing the issue. I recommend trying the steps in this FAQ: http://www.evga.com/support/faq/?f=59502

    4. I recommend making sure that the cards are secured to your case securely as the spacing should be adequate to ensure that the cards do not touch.

Hi Chris, Thank you for your input, I have tried NO.1 but the problem keep occuring. and I also called the tech support and I got an similiar answer... I know you guys are very helpful but my problem are kinda unique based on research. I have copied a summary from the computer recovered from BS:
problem event name: BlueScreen   OS version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.1   locale ID: 1033
    additional infomation about this problem:   BCCode: 3d   BCP1: FFFFF88004B20FF0   BCP2: 0000000000000000   BCP3: 0000000000000000   BCP4: FFFFF880010C9CC1   OS Version: 6_1_7601   Service Pack: 1_0   Product: 256_1

Might want to try bumping up your CPU vcore a bit as BS Code 3d indicates the CPU is not receiving enough voltage.

theres a program called bluescreenview by nirsoft that might give you more info on the cause.  sometimes it can see past bluescreen crashes for comparison

Based on the bluescreen you have a marvel error. If you have any sata cables connected to the red ports disconnect them and make sure your system drive is on a black Intel port. Without any hard drives connected to the red ports see if the error goes away. If it goes away then I suspect the problem to be:

    1: A bad SATA cable
    2: Faulty hard drive
3: A problem with the marvel BIOs setup

I had similar issues with this blue screen of death while playing bf4 on 1080 @ 120 fps, so I started unplugging stuff and finally figured out that my sata3 6ghz controller was toast (red plugins) x58 mobo, so unplugged all sata 6ghz and plugged em in sata 3 3ghz slots and no more blue screens, I think those sata 6ghz controllers have a weak spot and go out, my opinion, thanks
