Man those are some low figures . Clean install may be fix . Who cares what you get in firestrike , your 3dmark11 scores are very good . So why worry ? Do a comparison in games between your sli setup and the reviewers sli setup so you can see if its just the firestrike or something else . When it comes to 3dmark , I had problems with it from day one lol . Sometimes the software doesn't work same for all.

If you take a look at this page, almost all the rigs scoring 18,000-19,000 in FireStrike have CPU's clocked higher than my 4GHz and have overclocked GPUs - look at the details for each score. I'm not quite as concerned as I was, and it seems maybe 19k is not normal for stock? Comrade [ link] your score is currently the 4th highest on that list, I don't know how you managed those scores on 4GHz and stock GPU clocks, lol.. golden cards! but that doesn't explain why we have almost the same score in 3DMark11. I'm seeing similar inexplicable results on multiple forums.. I'm wondering if 3DMark is having some issues getting correct readings with the new series cards, because I'm also seeing this happen with 970 cards, and nobody can figure out why.. plenty of theories though, lol. Logic would say if my FireStrike score is that much lower than yours on basically the same rig, then my 3DMark11 score should be lower too.. but it isn't. Weirdness. Have you got GPU-Z? Can you look at your ASIC 'quality' score (not that I know what it means).. one of mine is 72.3, the other 72.4.

Nereus Just installed my 2 x GTX-980 SC cards (not ACX). Both cards look great, and installed without any issue. Noise is low even on full load, no coil whine, no fans sounding like a jet turbine, temps peaked at 73C under full load for an extended duration. I'm very happy with them so far. Ran a single run of 3DMark11 and 3DMarkFireStrike. Cards are in SLI running at stock, CPU is i7-3930k at a mild 4.0GHz o/clock, and 16GB of 1866MHz memory. Results: 3DMark11 : P23,300 FireStrike : 17,007 That's a big jump over my 2 x GTX-680 FTW+ 4GB cards; they scored P17,413 and 11,484 at stock with same CPU clock and ram.
Hey, nice scores there! We have similar set-ups and wanted to ask a question to you or anyone else who may know more information. I have 2-way SLI 980s SC edition and got a 3dmark11: 22500 with my system at stock speeds. However when trying Firestrike bench the screen freezes and needs a hard reboot. I do run in nvidia surround and I see others with similar issues with Firestrike specifically. I am hoping someone can point me in the right direct on how to get this fixed or if it's just something we need a driver update for being SLI in nvidia surround. Thanks!

Heh.. well my suggestion; don't bother with FireStrike scores.. it may not be reliable on the 900 series, lol.

Yeah it's all pretty new as I just built it up last night. I was just more fearful that it crashes on the 2nd bench I do, it may be the tip of the iceberg of issues. I don't see much bad rep going around about SLI 980s so I hope it is just Firestrike! I'll post in here later once I've played some games and tested it more thoroughly. Thanks!

OK well seems whatever the problem was, it has been resolved with the new NVidia drivers 344.48. My new FireStrike score is 18,328 which is much more in line with what is expected (4.0GHz i7-3930k, 2 x GTX-980 SC reference at stock clocks). Yay! Ran several tests and got same result each time (+/- ~30 points). I believe the issue may have been some weirdness that the GPU effective memory clock was dropping down to 6000MHz under load instead of holding at 7010MHz (the ratio of the difference in FireStrike scores was somewhat similar to the difference in mem clocks). I am still seeing this drop in memory clock happen using AIDA64 benching/stress test utilities on full load even with the updated NVidia drivers, however 3DMark11, 3DMark FireStrike and Heaven 4.0 now run full memory and core clocks, so all is good, or good enough for me at least. Thanks for the suggestions along the way. :)
