Hey guys,
I have a Gigabyte GT 210 1GB DDR3. What is the best OC speed, without going too far?
Stock clock is 520mhz, running it at 560mhz so far. Running at 63*C.
CPU: i7 870 (2.93, 3.6 turbo)
RAM: G.Skill 1333 MHz 8 GB (4GB x2)
Thanks.
Edit: does the brand of the graphic card really matter? Can i still post here?

Overclock speeds vary from card to card. The voltage on the core tends to affect the lifetime more then the speed itself. As long as your not getting driver crashes or artifacts you should be fine. Also just have to say, overclocking a GT 210 isn't going to get you very far. If you want more performance, even a $100 video card will far outperform that GT 210

    ^^ I agree, even a gt 740 ($100) is a huge upgrade from that.

As long as you don't change the GPU's voltage then any overclock you can achieve that is fully stable is going to be safe for the card. 63c is perfectly acceptable for a GPU as well.

Yeah, I know that I won't get much out of it, but it's what I have to deal with until I get a Evga GTX 750 ti FTW.
Edit: I'm keeping the voltage as it is at 1000mv. Also, will it help to increase the memory clock? Similar to the GPU clock?
    Thanks for the help.

It uses a 64bit memory bus so it probably would help a little bit, but I'm going to guess it's not going to be anything you'd notice outside of benchmarks.

went to 585mhz, 65 more than stock and yeah...nothing really improved.
Might be because i'm only playing nfs world (which has really unstable fps)...cuz thats all i can run :/

I don't know the exact numbers for a gt 210 but with video cards the core clock is normally more important. There tends to be a relationship where 10-15mhz increase is memory clock gives the same performance boost as overclocking the core 1-2 mhz. That's also in bench-marking, real world gains tend to be small.

Good choice saving for a 750ti, those are quiet good budget cards.

Alright, so I guess i'll try overclocking the memory like 65mhz more too.

Yeah, and it's probably the best card I can get for a 450w PSU. It came with the case so it's probably one of those real crappy ones, but i've had no problems with it. It's a thermaltake v4 black edition, but I can't really tell if the PSU is good or not :/

Yeah, unfortunately a GT 210 was the absolute bottom end card of it's lineup. The integrated graphics in a 4000-series Haswell processor would wipe the floor with it by an order of magnitude or two just to give some perspective.

or maybe the GT 205 for the bottom end card? :p

Played Battlefield 3 on lowest settings and reso and got an average fps of at least 35. Before I used to only get a steady 26 but now it seems to be anywhere from 33-45. I think i'll be able to play BF3 and move on from NFSW lol :D
