Does this Bios also include the custom fix (I got from evga tech) for the hdmi audio loss issue on intel integrated HD 4600 graphics?

Haven't tried I was/am under the impression previous bios revisions would not work with this cpu.

Could it be an issue with the cpu itself (I would hope not) ? I haven't looked to see if there are any reported issues at this time. I also have not owned one of those CPUs, so I am just trying to help without much knowledge at this point.

Yeah that would suck. There is a fellow redditor that has the exact same problem I'm having. Would the odds really be that good that we both have bad CPUs with the exact same motherboard and not able to overclock a chip that was specifically designed to do so. I'm just super disappointed that I'm having this issue no malcontent intended.

Hopefully not, but silicon lotteries are just that. Hopefully someone with one of these chips can pop in and give some Insight. Maybe there is something that has been missed that needs to be done for it to work.

I hope something has been missed. I do have a 4790k in my main rig that I could use to test but the amount of work it would take is not something I'm looking forward too. The g3258 is in a colossus mini with a nh-d14 strapped to it.

I too just put my G3258 in my Z87 Stinger with the lates 1.08 BIOS, and I can set an OC in the BIOS, but it doesn't actually matter.  It only ever stays at stock speeds... kind of annoying, as the only reason I got the G3258 (and I'm guessing why most people do) was for the overclocking... would hate to have to switch boards because of this issue.

I did not try the earlier BIOS either, as I too was under the impression that required the BIOS update to use this CPU.  Darn it anyway...

I was able too set the cpu speed to 4 ghz using the baseclock. My ram is running at 2000 MHz, I haven't taken it any higher.
