I'm pissed.

Bought a EVGA 750ti SC last week and since I installed it nothing but " driver 344.11 stopped responding...kernel....yada yada yada...recovered"
I'm retired and after being along time RADEON guy I went for the energy efficient" MAXWELL GPU; boy I'm regretting it now I tell ya.

Pick your poison; EVGA (faulty card?) or nVidia (useless drivers?).

After researching this issue, its apparent that this issue is a chronic one for NVIDIA. I know a lot of you don't have it, but too many of us nVidia owners do (my driver just "recovered" as I was typing this by the way).

I have:
- reinstalled current/old drivers every which way you can;
- reinstalled Win 7 too many times;
- adjusted registry settings;
- adjusted 3D power settings thru Nvidia Control Panel;
- updated BIOS and all drivers for everything installed;
- lowered GPU, GDDR and RAM memory clocks;
- cleaned my MB and RAM slots;
- checked my power supply output;
- yada, yada, yada

Its unfortunate that my current fix is to reinstall my RADEON 4850 and RMA or warranty claim the 750ti and the buy a R9 270 or something like that.

Not impressed with these cards, not worth the hassle for an old guy (which I NEVER had with AMD for 20+ years) and I'm not a happy camper.....

If there was a "fix" posted on the internet, I tried it;  I'm tired.

I need a "hell mary" fix else Ill be on of those guys who  "when you're happy you tell a few, when your pissed, you tell everybody"

System:
Win7 SP1 64Bit
AsRock FM2A88X-ITX+ (BIOS and Drivers updated to latest)
AMD A8-7600 CPU
G.Skill 8GB TridentX DDR-2400 RAM
120 GB Intell 520 SSD (firmware updated to latest)
Corsair CMPSU-400CX ATX12V V2.2 80 Plus Power Supply

    Well first off, don't install geforce exp, it can cause problems. Other then that you have tried most of the normal things. The later drivers are mainly for the gtx 980/970, so you could always try an older driver such as this one

    One thing about evga is they do have very good support(at least here in the usa, can't say about other area's). I would say call them up and say whats going on, you may have been very unlucky and gotten a bad card.

    Also, post full system specs.

    Have you tried all drivers 334.89 through 344.11? If not, give them all a shot to see if one corrects the problem. If you have tried all drivers 334.89 through 344.11 and none of the drivers resolved the issue try installing driver 331.82, you will need to download a modified INF file to allow driver 331.82 to work with your 750 ti, you can download driver 331.82 & the modified INF file right here.

    When posting a problem can you please list your complete specs to include make and model of PSU and CPU overclocking (if any).

    AMD Ryzen 9 7950X,  Corsair Mp700 Pro M.2, 64GB Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5  X670E Steel Legend, MSI RTX 4090 Associate Code: H5U80QBH6BH0AXF. I am NOT an employee of EVGA

    First of all, thank you all for the suggestions; it was nice to have few constructive responses waiting for me when I got up this AM.

    In response to all above,  I never installed Geforce Experience. I changed the 3D voltage setting thru the the nVidia Control Panel; apologies for confusion.

    CPU not overclocked.....

    Ill try the 337.88 drivers again; pretty sure I did before but will again.

    Will try the 332's after that; thank you for link.

    Edited my initial post to correct some inaccuracies and post system specs.

    Thank you for feedback.  Will let you know how suggested drivers go. Will install from a clean Win7 install........again.

    The first thing that comes to mind is that because you're using an AMD cpu , along with the AMD compatible board- it uses AMD drivers for many onboard functions, of which they tie a graphics subset into them .
      For some people, ( not trying to talk down to you ) - it can be a bit tricky figuring out which of those AMD drivers need to be gotten rid of to allow the new NVIDIA graphics drivers to function best., without seeing weird issues like this.

     I always look at a driver install, software conflict, incorrect settings first  --> hardware failure last --

    GOOGLE into which AMD drivers  to get rid of safely - restart - then install only Nvidia drivers & PhysX ( NONE of the rest of the extras that Nvidia wants you to ) - restart again

    Re: Not a happy camper...... 2014/10/03 10:00:54 (permalink)
    So today, after a day of trying different drivers as suggested above, this morning I'm trying a different approach to solve this.

    As of right now I have reinstalled Win7-64 (no updates), 344.11 drivers, MB network driver and one game, World of Tanks with MB UEFI at default settings.  No other MB drivers and zero Windows updates updates and no other programs.

    Ran WoT (in window mode) race course several times and no crash....hmmmm...seems stable with latest 344.11 drivers.

    Devise Manager indicates that I have 4 items not installed, all others have had default drivers installed by the new Win7 installation:

    - Wireless Network Controller
    - SM Bus
    - USB Controller x 2

    SM BUS and USB controller require AMD SB drivers.....

    I'm now debating to what to install next and then run WoT again; keep doing this until my system crashes........ or not.

    Here is my planned hierarchy of software installations:

    AsRock MB All-in-1 Drivers
    AMD SB Drivers
    Optimize UEFI settings
    Win7 SP1
    Bitdefender
    Malwarebytes
    Other various programs such as Intel SSD Tool-Box, CPU-ID, CCCleaner

    Thoughts on plan?  Suggested alternate installation route/order?

    Any suggestions welcome before I press forward.

    Thanks in advance.
