I cannot get the "Small" font to work at all, on my Logitech G15 keyboard, even using PrecisionX 16 v5.2.2.0. Are you able to reproduce my problem, and are you working on a fix??

I can't turn on Kboost at all and I do not have sli enabled as I only have 1 780 gtx ti card.  Also the test function doesn't work either and I do have Evga OC scanner installed (newest version).

Disable the OSD or add vlc to the exclude list. Not a very difficult solution.

You shouldn't have to. Why the hell would you want OSD default on in a media player?

The Framerate Target Control is still gone most of the time after a reboot. The setting is also not saved in a profile. I have to set it after almost every reboot ! But no more crashing/freezing of mediaplayers or windows 7 performance index due to the font issues.

You shouldn't have to. Why the hell would you want OSD default on in a media player?


It defaults on in all available directx environments if they aren't in the exclude list. ;)

I also cant get KBoost to work and precision seems to lag my computer when I have it open getting Event id 500-501.

Thanks, I didn't know this. It's strange that the OSD is not displaying for me within games such as Crysis (64 bit), Crysis 2 (32 bit) or Far Cry 2 (32 bit). I realize these games are older but shouldn't the OSD still display?
Apologies if I should have asked this in a dedicated thread. Thanks again.
 
 
14th October Edit:
The OSD is not displaying since I am playing the games using a standard user account while Precision is running with administrator privileges (using my Windows admin account). When playing the games using the admin account, the OSD appears as expected (even though the games are not running with admin privileges). I realize the above use case is very rare.

Wow man reading this thread, i have had weird issues with my PC for a few weeks now, i had to do a re-install on w 8.1 and when i did i installed the new evga precision since it was just out then and never thought it would cause any issues nor suspected that it would be precision doing all that, but i had VLC crash a million times, my Usenet program would crash on start up, my mouse cursor would vanish in Diablo 3 and some other issues like k-boost not working in SLI nor that the size font on the Logitech keyboard would change at all even if i set it, you can imagine my reaction when reading this forum/thread for the first time
 
Going back to 4.2.1 for now and that seems to work fine, i do want to use the new precision it looked cool and for the most part seemed to work fine but there is some serious bug fixing to do still for me to start using it again

ALT + TABbed from the game and I lost all desktop icons. Actually now desktop shows only a single blue background color in Windows 8.1 Prox64. Icons are there though (could start programs blindly by clicking desktop everywhere with a mouse) but icons can't be seen anywhere (except by opening the desktop-folder). Only log off or restart fixes this.
 
Edit: Uninstalled 5.2.2 and my icons returned and do not disappear while ALT+TABbing.

I think it's safe to say the program needs to mature more before consumption.  I'm not sure who's doing the software validation at EVGA but imo the software feels more like an alpha then stable release at the moment.

Yeah when i alt tabbed from Diablo 3 yesterday, somehow a screenshot of the b.net launcher on a strange resolution of i think 800x600 got stuck as my wallpaper and my windows task bar disappeared and had to do a system reset, the wallpaper still pops up from now and then too between my regular cycle and i cant seem to get rid of it either no matter what i do, so i am considering to do a fresh windows re-install once more just so i get rid of the wacky wallpaper :{

Why is there no option for me to download a version of precision x? Precision 16 5.2.2 is causing me nothing but headaches and the older version of just precision x worked better for me.

RTSS should not be "forced" as part of the install, I can't remember it asking if I wanted it but for someone like me who'd just read the numbers from the Logitech keyboard I have no use for OSD so therefore I don't need it (if you could get Logitech to show small icons).

Did you install 5.2.2 clean ? I had major issues with 5.2.1 but after a clean install of 5.2.2. most of the problems where gone.

RTSS is not even used any more with Precision. What are you talking about? If uou have RTSS installed, pleaae uninstall it before using Precision. Otherwise, you are sure to see conflicts which appear as bugs.


@ everyone else: This is the 5.2.2 thread. The current precision version is 5.2.3. Look at the top of this forum for the correct 5.2.3 thread.

Are you serious? The reason why the new precision versions exist is because EVGA and Unwinder don't get along. They won't usee RTSS. The whole purpose is to get away from RTSS and away from a proprietary software controlled by a tyrant.
