Possible to change step-up once it's been started?

I've been wondering this ever since the ACX 2.0 980s were available for step-up in place of the reference design. If someone from here at EVGA could chime in, would it be possible for me to switch the step-up to the ACX 2.0  model rather than the reference model without having to start the entire process over again? I did the step-up like an hour after it became available and would hate to push myself that far back by canceling and restarting the process.

    Unforunatly once the Step-up process has started there would be no possible way to change the GPU. Now if you are well within the 90 day window to step up you can resubmit your step up selecting the GPU of your choice. Due keep in mind though you will have to start over in queue giving up your current position in line. If you have any further questions or concerns feel free to contact our 24/7 technical Support.

    I would be happy to trade my ACX 980 for your reference 980 when I get it.
     
    Edit: I'm also waiting to be "stepped up".
