That's a before and after of your car Rush? That looks a MILLION times better in my opinion. I hate how Mustangs have become girl cars(almost always automatics too). Are the rims glossy or matte? That is one thing that drives me nuts is matte rims, I always feel like they look dirty.

How do you get into car modding and learn all of this stuff? I'll be honest I'm nearly clueless when it comes to actual engine mods etc. I'd like to install a turbo on my Civic though.

LOL Jk, I would only really consider a cold air intake because I hear they help MPG, response and engine life. Might have like a minimal affect on HP but it is a Civic after all, I'm not looking to waste any money trying to make it a race car lol.

They're plasti dipped in matte black. They look nice for about 2-3 days after a car wash, But I almost never wash my car anymore, So they always look dirty lol.

I actually spent a while reading Mustang specific forums and browsing AmericanMuscle.com reading what the majority of the aftermarket parts do and the reviews they got to back that claim up...

I do this before any purchase to make sure I'm getting what I pay for. CAI's don't really help a noticeable amount... Not for the money you're going to spend on it, It's mostly for the sound they make when you step on it, Honestly... lol.

P.S.

:(!!!

Interesting. I don't plan on doing anything under the hood to my Civic, nor visibly. The only thing I'd really want to do is upgrade the speakers.

Rgr on the CAI, wasn't sure really if it made a real difference, just had heard it did.

Still I personally would prefer a glossy or metallic black. I just like shiny things.

The mod looks VERY nice, I have a preference towards V8's, but this is a nice clean build and should perform well.
Get some picks from under the hood and of the suspension (where parts were changed) and post them, I would love to see it.

Thank you. I'm debating on whether I should trade in for a 2015 Mustang Fastback GT Premium or continue on my current path.

Here's under the hood :

I'm planning on adding Carbon Fiber dress up in the near future for a cleaner look.

Here are the best pictures I could take of the aftermarket suspension parts.

I did my best to get what I could on the suspension shots... It's hard to get good pics without a lift or ramp.

I couldn't get a picture of the Steeda Upper Control Arm at ALL.

And then here's the shorty headers and the X-Pipes.... I had never seen the X-Pipe under my car =P

Clearer shot of the drop with the lowering springs :

The RTR License plate surround :

I already pre-ordered the RTR Decklid which will delete the faux gas cap and make it smooth, I'm in the process of removing the stripes, They are hard to remove because of how damaged they were... That's the last part left. I've been too lazy.

Honestly, with as much as you have put into it already, you would be better off continuing down your current path and get that turbo set-up vs trading for a 2015. You would really have to find someone that would take your car with the mods installed and generally, you get about 50cents on every dollar you spent on a mod to someone who understands the mods. And if you try to trade it into a car dealer, well, I hope you save all the OEM parts b/c they are going to want them back on it.

Just keep going down your path and go for the sleeper look.

She's looking good Rush , I hope you are also modifying the soft top with heavy duty clamps to prevent you from being sucked out of the car if the roof blows off

Very nice and cleanly done, dug the pics.  May have been in one of the earlier posts, but what's the thickness of that front sway bar, looks pretty hefty.
I can tell you first hand, that sway bars can change so much about how good a car feels when cornering, a world of difference removing a lot of the roll.

According to AM, The front sway bar is 36MM Tubular and the rear is 25MM Solid.

The car already had some OEM sway bars, But they were nothing compared to the quality on these.

Yeah, That's what I was thinking. Definitely going to keep my car now, If I wanted the 2015, I should have waited in the first place.

Or with all that money he spent on his V6 mustang plus the upgrades, he could of used all that money to buy a 5.0 GT Mustang.  But knowing him he is not that patient.

That is a nice decal Rush. But Hazman, I would have thought your right decal would say "IS GREAT!"

I think I have to get decals as well then :P
My left decal would say "ManBearPig" and the right would say "Is Real!!!"

Ya you would think that. But the only reason why I have THE GREAT in my username on the EVGA forums is because SOMEBODY took and stole the name HAZMAN by itself already from me. So I just added THE GREAT to my username to show that I AM the real HAZMAN and I AM better. A fun fact about me is that HAZMAN is my nickname from my real name Hazum. You say my real name as Haz then say Um like umbrella.

First off, gloss rims are associated with donks and pep boys rims. Secondly the modding comes from loving cars - to most people its a heap of metal and an A to B deal. To others it's a contraption full of joy, an expression of our interests.

As for your Civic - an intake won't increase MPG. In this day and age, EVERY manufacturer provides very well engineered solutions out of the box. Rarely is the restriction in the air intakes. My G37 used to get 19-20 mpg. Since it's been lowered, its got its exhaust, and some other doodads my MPG dropped to 14-15?

If you want the best MPG keep it stock. As for Turbos, you have a long way to go and not enough cash in your pocket to pull it off especially if its your only car.

So, I guess I don't know how to attach pictures through mobile... lol yesterdays post was a fail!

Anyways :

I went to a shop with good rep to do the wrap, unfortunately he said even he found it difficult to do the hood, The air ports in the front killed it, He started from the front and when he shrunk it, it didn't cover it completely.. So he patched it temporarily and wants me to go back in to re-do it, but this time he's going to start from the back.

Lookin' good!  The red lights under there IMMEDIATLY made me think of Nightrider (I was a kid from the 80's) and if it has Super Pursuit mode, I NEED PICS :)

OK, in all seriousness, this is looking really killer.  And I saw your reply to my swaybar question, you know, form my experience of various builds and upgrades, that is likely the biggest handling change from a single component on the car, and they aren't even that pricey compared to other parts.  On my old restomod is REALLY made a huge impact on the handling.

Is this going to be your daily driver?  Also, once all is said and done, are you thinking of taking to a track (if there is one close) and seeing what kind of numbers you pull, 1/8, 1/4 miles and even better a road course.  To me its finding a balance, something that can grip and launch but that can still quarter, at some point there will be a trade off, how much hole shot do you want to sacrifice for better cornering or vice versa.... but I am really curious to see how well it does once it is all the way you want it.

Hah, Maybe I will add that feature later one, For now it's just on and off =/!

This is indeed my DD, I've been working on lowering my times at the 1/8 of a mile for drag racing, However I am very much looking forward to road racing as well... This was the main reason I upgraded the suspension before any major mods. The suspension will help me go through road courses with ease and will also help me plant power to the ground for drag racing.

Honestly, I'm a bit stuck right now... an aluminum one piece drive shaft will lower my 1/4 mile by 0.2 seconds, But new rims/tires will help me keep my traction and at the same time lower my ET... (Not sure by how much, But it plays a major role).

I also need to install tow hooks at the front and rear of the car, For said road courses... So that's another expense, lol.

Never realized how bad the stock drive shaft was.

Yep, The aluminum one piece drive shaft weighs 29lbs less, According to AM.

Plus, I don't like the idea of this happening :

At speeds over 125, This tends to happen.

I've taken my car, Which has 4:10 gears, So it's spinning much much faster than stock, to 140MPH and that is a very, VERY bad thing to do.... I've been lucky so far, But I don't want to test my luck.

Yeah, pushing your luck there is NOT a great idea.

And you sound like me, trying to get the perfect balance of grip for straight line, but a real love of cornering as well, sure you can make a pure road course car that will get SMOKED in a straight line, and vice versa, but I think that's the real art in a street machine is finding that mix that goes well everywhere that also feels comfortable for you.  With how I start3ed out, im WAY more comfortable in something with retarded amounts of torque and really nose heavy and I can drive them well, and enjoy them, others have not been as crazy about it, this also brings in some of the variety in street machines.  And in the end 2 things to always remember, 1)  As long as you like it, it is safe, and you have fun with it.  It does not matter AT ALL if others are faster, prettier etc because its exactly what YOU wanted, and 2) 95/100 races are won by the driver, NOT the car.  An excellent driver who is used to a mediocore care will usually beat a driver who hasn't got a clue in a Vette or GTR.

Do you have times for you 1.8th, 1/4th or for a road course form before the mods?  It would really be a great way to monitor your performance gains.  Hell, a GoPro would be awesome in there too, mount it on the dash for a road course then post it here :)

There are two I have wanted to do for years, kinda bucket list kinda things.  Pike Peak Hill climb, and the Silver State Classic Challenge.

What is spinning much faster on your car than a stock geared car?

Drive shaft would be.
4.10 gears is for every 4.10 times the drive shaft rotates, the rear end does once.  Hence better acceleration at the cost of higher RPM and a reduce top end speed.

Yes, but at max engine RPM in top gear your drive shaft is spinning no faster with 4.10 rear differential gears than it would with 3.08 rear gears.  Engine RPM x your final drive ratio out of the trans = driveshaft RPM
