So this is just the demo launch right? The article says Win 9 won't launch commercially until 2015... in which case the article title is very misleading.

I can't wait to try it, but dual-booting on my 240GB SSD won't leave me much space to use. :/ But, we'll see Also if I recall correctly, Nvidia had drivers out with windows 8 and 8.1 on day 1 of the preview, above and beyond the "day 1 release" that I hope a few other companies that make drivers will likely do (and still more will wait months perhaps :/)

I saw that. I've been following the live blog on the Verge. They said once you experience/see the OS, you'd see "Windows 10" is an appropriate name... They weren't any more specific than that. Quote: This product, when you see the product in your fullness I think you'll agree with us that it's a more appropriate name.

They're just mirroring the MacOS X naming scheme. Not very imaginative. If they start code naming builds after cats I'm gonna facepalm.

There's no windows 9, so you can't include that in the list.

Ah, but his list makes perfect sense if Win 10 bombs! I'll wait to the gold edition ships but so far I'm not hearing promising things about that start menu, can't even remove or delete the store tile and more silliness about microsoft accounts just to test out a beta edition... What's so hard about at least putting in the OPTION for a win-7 startmenu? Just look at how long they kept the Windows NT start menu going on Windows Server for the IT admins...

yes you can delte the store tiles well remove them and the OS weighs alot less yes has more and uses less ram. all you need to do is download it foryourself and run it and see everything you want know first hand become and insider and you will keep getting updates via windows updates of newest features to test. Also i woudl like to hear where you are hearing bad things on the new start menu as not to many oif any are complaining about it. MS is giving a bit of old and new . here why dont ya watch the 39min video keynote they did https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NfveyXCsiA8

Maybe it was just an internal version or they totally threw it away it was so bad This is how Vista was born. They got rid of almost all the old XP code because they found out they couldn't make it more secure without starting from scratch or something like that. Also I think they tried using .NET to much since they were really pushing .NET at the time so more people would start using it but it make the OS unusable from performance anyways!
