Seems like the 5 year warranty has be officially reinstated for the 900 series until Dec. Hopefully the backplates will also see the light of day soon.

Sweet! That is a great warranty, my gtx 970 sc acx1.0 is arriving tomorrow. Gives me a great piece of mind with that warranty, better than any of their competitors. Thanks EVGA

Guess this is due to the fact they pay so much more ? who knows. They really need an EU forums subsection so I don't have to get all depressed. It's bad enough they get month long vacations...but now longer warranties?! /snub

Bah, my bad guys. I'm not sure why it went to the EU site instead of the US one when I pulled up EVGA's website. Guess I got all overzealous about the news haha. Though it is messed up they get it and we don't.

Unless I'm mistaken the EU Law only relates to the minimum warranty period required which is two years.  They've extended it to 5 as a promotion only.

bit of a shame that it's only EU considering EVGA is a U.S. based company but oh wellz.

EU only sucks. I have to spend $20 if I want to get the 5 year warranty. Why are we US customers getting screwed on this 'promotion'?
 
I should have stuck with PNY. They have treated me well over the years.
 
On a good note though my last EVGA card was the 8800GT 512 that I bought on release day via Newegg and it is still going strong all these years later. Pulling duty in my HTPC.

Guys we think same for USA. USA always get better binned chips and always first.
It's normal and Europe to get something first.
To be honest I'm satisfied with 3 years, but it's nice if someone get 5 years.

I change ur tipical 500$=500€ for that 5 years free warranty, with that 120€ of diference you can pay like 4 times the extended warranty...

I've been keeping an eye on the EU EVGA products page for a while. The items that were there are still there. I have seen no changes yet. I assume more items will be added soon.

Haha, yeah that was my mistake. I pulled up EVGA's website and for some reason it was set to the EU site instead of US (first time that has ever happened.) That's when I first saw the 5 year warranty announcement.  So when I went to check on the stock of 900's there were no ACX 2.0's when usually there are in the US. So, basically this entire thread was based on a goof...

love the guy who joined yesterday to post a whine lol do the $ conversion of cost in us to cost in EU .EU pays a bit more in taxes etc so evga is trying to help.why is anyone upset over this ? Almost embarrassing  to be a US citizen and see this behavior. 

I don't really see the point. You don't know how many bills any of us have to pay. Just because we are in the USA doesn't mean we are all on easy street.
 
Ultimately I can live with my 3 year warranty and no back plate. I didn't buy this card for a 5 year and free back plate anyway. But it would have been nice. Actually the backplate should have been on these cards from the get go. It's been awhile since I bought a card that didn't have one. But I won't complain in this thread going forward since our concerns seem to fall of deaf ears anyway.
 
 
P.S. Just because I registered my card on Tuesday so I became a forum member yesterday does not mean I joined up just to complain. Actually I came to this forum because I have not been satisfied with my card for other reasons and wanted to see if anyone else had my issues. I have been a long time owner of evga products, video cards and motherboards and I have the same rights as someone who registered years ago.
 
I still have evga products that are 10 years old going strong.

Every few months I have to explain this. Not only does the EU have to pay more in taxes, they have to pay more in transport, insurance, and warehousing. 

Yeah but they get month long holidays...so it evens out. ;)
