Life got topsy turvy and ended up taking an extended break. Now in my new house, I've decided with the cold weather approaching to start warming my garage with GPUs again. With my budget, I bought a ZOTAC GTX 770 AMP! which will be my main folder for now. Have a few other platforms I can put cards on when I have the time and do a little more research. Finding out there are other interesting cards I need to look into. I guess this winter is supposed to be exceptionally cold in Oklahoma so that might speed up my folding farm creation as well.

Anyhow, It's good to be back. EVGA Folding is a friendly group I enjoyed talking with :)

BTW This download came with my card. I don't plan on using it, so one of y'all are welcome to it.

Also I downloaded driver 327.23 to fold with. Still says im in the 40k PPD but I guess I should let that reset on the next unit, it's on core17. Theres no flags or anything I should be running, correct?

    Thanks

Yeah I do. Which reminded me, I have to turn in 10 WUs or something like that to get the Quick Return Bonus? Guess that's the answer to my question.

If that's your original passkey, your all set. Bonus will kick in.

Any updates on that? Looking at your stats on the folding page, I feel like nVidia folding users are kinda left staring in the sun lately. If the stats on the kakaostats page are done with that GTX770, I don't think it was a good buying decision, at least not for folding. If you game intensively might be a different story but folding wise, not the best PPD/$ decision.

Yeah, I am running between 100-115k PPD with the GTX 770. I didn't do my research before I bought, and I really don't use my computer for anything besides school work. I probably could of picked up a better card, or even a pair of cards. My computer is actually a LAN box built for multiple cards.

However, I can't complain. This is the first card I have used for folding that I've actually been able to use my computer with out having to turn off the folding. Even while my GTX 650 was folding on this exact computer for 10k PPD, I had to pause the folding just to use the computer.

Edit: Even with my GTX 770 SC 4GB (double the RAM), I had to pause folding

Maybe it's because of the release of the GTX 900 series, but just saw the GTX 780 (non ti) dropped down to close to $300.

With my used 280X I can do whatever I want except gaming and it still pulls 140k PPD @ 1150MHz. If you intend to fold heavily you might want to change the GTX cards for some GCNs. Or a single GTX 970, this will get you the same PPD as your 2 GTXs and power savings too.

    Welcome back.
First I'll add my observations: with my 770 SC on core 17s I can usually pull around 115-130k ppd which is on par with each of my 8 R9 280x's that I have in my 2 other folding rigs.  However, core 15s will drop my 770 down to around 40k ppd usually, while core 16s will drop my 280x's down to around 5k ppd .  I forget what my power reading is on the 770 rig, but I know when I was using the other rigs for mining and cpu folding they drew around 1400 watts from the wall each (compared to 950-1000 watts for my dual gtx 590 rig which outputs around 100k ppd total).
Though for gaming the 770 is an awesome card, and lets me play most of the games I care about at full 2560x1600.

P.S.  It had better be a colder winter than last year here in Oklahoma.  At least in OKC I thought we had a mild winter last year, there was only 1 day that I actually felt like it was too cold to go running outside and we didn't really get any snow...
