Well, i finally installed my new X99 board with the 16 gigs of DDR4 from Crucial that I won. Thanks again for the awesome contest eVGA.
For now, I purchased a 5820k, as I can not afford the 5960x and the 5930k just does not have the value that you would spend for the chip. I got my 5820k from Microcenter for $320 OTD. I plan to sell of my X79 build and then this 5820k to fund a 5960x and sell my eVGA 770GTX SC ACX and use my eVGA bucks to help support me in buying a 970GTX SSC ACX2.0 or maybe something higher ;)
First thoughts on board. I love the design. Not a lot of lights like my X79 classy board has and I like that. Looking inside my case does not blind me anymore.
Only complaint I have is the OEM style I/O shield. I know it is on the back of the case but it is plain silver. Every other motherboard I have ever owned from eVGA always had a black I/O on the outside. Also, the I?O shield does not have the nice padding in the inside like the X79 Classy one had. This makes the board have a gap from the shield but has the little metal spring piece to hold it. Also, I love the metal plate that hides the I/O stuff but there is a small gap between it and the Corsair 800D case.
As you can see, not any real complaints at all...just baby cosmetic.
Thanks again for the contest eVGA. Maybe I can score one of the 980GTX now too
Sincerely,
One happy contest winner and longtime eVGA product owner and supporter.
