...furthermore, these cards are supposed to be high-end are they not? The stock cooler looks completely bland, absolutely nothing exclusive about it. My gtx 650 ti boost looks more aesthetically pleasing for crying out loud. Coming from a long-time budget gamer, $330 is still top dollar. Come on evga! We're nerds! The aesthetics is half of it!

So true.

Just like before if there is a lot of interest we could look into it, but the length of the PCB on 970 vs 980 is different so this could make it a bit more challenging :)

Good to hear! I'm sure they will sell off the shelves and interest for a titan like cooler will definitely draw attention. Brand it with a Limited Edition on it and watch it fly lol.

anyways, I'm glad you guys may consider it.

I have to say.. the new ACX coolers look pretty ugly compared to before. The 700 series ACX looks way more refined and premium. And what's up with the blue? *Shaking head*

"high end" would be $500+ and to be honest now its more like $700+ since the Ti , Titans, and R295x's of the world.  $330 is budget for what we are getting for the performance per dollar in the 970.  Put it in your case close the cover and look at those pretty graphics.  Problem solved.

+1 from here also for a 970 with the ref blower of the Titan and make it an FTW SKU. Not because of the looks but because of QUALITY.
Sure it would cost more to make but whatever? It's better quality. And people want quality. People would still buy it since they know that the Titan blower is way better.
Or if the fancy outer magnesium alloy shell and plexiglass window would make the SKU too expensive then at least give us the Titan blower innards.

Woow come to think about it looks like that we all agree on Quality over price in everything in Cellphones people choose high end cell phone just because they build some awesome mind blowin quality ,with that been said why the market on the other hand does provide us with what those type of people needs unless they keep asking and asking :)

Just wait and see

this is the only reason i didnt buy one yet. i will hold out until i can get a reference cooler. nvidia shows the 970 with this cooler so i would think its not to hard to put together or they would have done something different for the 970.

a lot of you seem to think that is actually a Titan cooler when its really not. it is made to look like the Titan cooler but it lacks the vapor chamber. of course its really not needed on the much lower TDP cards.

right it has heatpipes...I think what were going after are the looks first then performance second. If the 980 does fine with the heat pipe heatsink the 970 will do fine too.

I'm with you guys. If Evga makes it with the stock ref cooler, I'll buy it. Otherwise, I have to look at other venders to get one.

yes EVGA is crazy not to offer the 980 reference cooler for the 970. many people are going with 970 SLI setups and that cooler would be perfect.

I'd also be in for two 970s with reference cooling design... price range probably around $360 give or take.

Was thinking of snagging a pair of 970s for my next build, but man that blower design is fugly.  The VHS tape comment is too kind.

EVGA should make the 970 have the nVidia reference design! That looks a lot better than the ACX or the blower style they made which looks pretty bad. I would buy the reference style and if I could, two for SLI.  Otherwise, I'll buy the nVidia card from somewhere else with the reference design, like at Best Buy.

Plus make a back plate for it too! I like those.

Yes, yes, yes!
Reference (aka nvidia's gtx970 blower type) cooler + backplate = certain buy

Very much a +1 for this. I love a good blower and that is dearly missing in the 970 market. The 670 FTW was and still is a very highly regarded video card and a 970 FTW built on 980 PCB with the 980 reference cooler and backplate... That would be perfect.

As a owner of the Hadron case - a rear exhaust GPU is basically mandatory and I love my 770 w/Titan cooler.  I'd love a 970 with the same.

I just had an (stupid?) idea. How about evga creates a kickstarter style campaign to see how many are willing to get a gtx970 with the titan cooler?

I disagree, unless you can support that with at least conflicting information from nvidia. I want the 970 reference cooler as shown on nvidia.com.  It is commonly called the NVTTM cooler.  It can be found at this link here (or nvidia dot com under the GTX 970 if this url is blocked):

I also attached a screenshot of the page in case the url is blocked.  I think the point is worthless though, since EVGA used a custom PCB and switched out some components for more economical alternatives (such as the voltage regulator).

There is only one manufracture that made the gtx 970 with default cooler: MANLI GTX970-NV.
