EVGA Support,

I installed my classified x99 mb last night with 5930 cpu (watercooled) with 16gb corsair dominator platinum series 2800MHz ram (CMD16GX4M4A2800C16). I am able to use the default bios with no issues. But when I switch to XMP 1 which is a choice the cpu will either let me in windows and then freeze or it will not load up at all (no bios turning on, cpu just sits there with black screen). So I then clear CMOS and go back to defaults and it works again, default speed for ram is 2133MHz. I am touching nothing else except the XMP 1 profile, am I doing something wrong? Should I be adjusting voltages or something? All ram is accounted for in its proper slots per bios.

Also when I am in windows using default bios settings I notice under system that it says 16gb (15.8 usable)? But when I go under task manager under performance it shows the full 16gb being used. I am using Windows 7 Ultimate 64Bit. Is this an issue or just a rounding error?

Thank you

Honestly, I would try going into the bios and instead of using XMP, try putting the timings in manually. Just refer to the sticker on one of the sticks of ram and just put those timings in. My Corsair dominators did the same thing. Once i put the timings in manually... it has worked with no issue!

This is also a known issue, addressed in the Bios 1.06 thread for the x99 Motherboards. The xmp profiles have been updated up to 2400 mhz so far, and they are working a new bios revision to accommodate much higher frequencies. This is brand new technology, so you to give it time to mature, and it helps to read about the most up to date bios options as well.

Thank you for comments, I am running 1.06 when all this occurred. I will try manual settings for now.

We are currently working on a BIOS to resolve issues seen with 2800 Memory, should be fairly soon, bu no ETA at this time.

RAM is great I have it running at 2666, just picked the highest XMP for now. Just waiting for the BIOS update. I guess and was thinking about setting manually to go to 2800 but just hadn't had the time. I work too much and when I come home just want to game lol. Once the bios is updated I'll go to 2800 and then overclock the cpu some more, cpu sitting at 4Ghz right now. The lights on the ram looks sick in my case, just pops.

At that high you should run them under prime95 blend test to see if they are completely stable.

I think I am having the same issue that you were but I didn't recognize it by your thread title and thus created my own thread. Am I to understand that you solved the issue by just setting your timings manually and things are fine now in V1.06?

Personally I prefer to have my ram timings set manually anyway. XMP is never 100 percent guaranteed to work.

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X,  Corsair Mp700 Pro M.2, 64GB Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5  X670E Steel Legend, MSI RTX 4090 Associate Code: H5U80QBH6BH0AXF. I am NOT an employee of EVGA

I have not had time to manually set the memory. All I did was change the memory frequency to 2667. I know that I am not running the ram at 2800 but also wanted to wait for the next bios update to use XMP. If not then will set manually.

In the meantime, if someone that has the memory and has set the memory manually can you give instructions on how you set the memory manually to 2800? Steps to follow? That would be a big help for me and probably others....Thank you
