I think Cost will really make a deference, I have high hopes that NVIDIA reduces the cost of their Cards by the time the 980 is released.

:-D awesome! I like the look of the shroud so far. Probably still won't purchase one, but if nothing else, I can look, lol.

Remember that AMD GPU's seem to make Better Folding GPUs. I will look close only because they are Water Cooled, and for Folding.

so if they are making it liquid cooled is that because it is hot from voltage use? or is it because that's what they did with the dual gpu? Where do you place 3 of these cards? the radiator take more than 120mm so you cant stuff them all in one 3x120mm area, you also run into issues that their 295x2 hoses were too short for some computers.
I am sure it will be a good card I am just concerned how more than 1 gpu cooling will be handled. Hopefully this is for 395x2 not 390x.

My guess is they are hot and want to keep noise down so they want to make watercooled hybred coolers this does not stop end vendors from putting their own cooling systems on if they stay on 28nm and want to keep up the word is they have to run them hotter and use up more power look at current gen - AMD uses more power/wattage - by a significant margin for a marginal performance gain over NVidia this is where Nvidia wins - low power high performance - in Server market the cost could be millions per day in power costs

You are correct, amd has no crazy power efficency designs coming out soon. They were planning on the die shrink giving them the power savings. Still amazes me how the tables turn in such a short time. I love that amd put out the commercial about how fermi was so hot and then nvidia did the same thing the next time around to amd. Still with amd running hot tho, I'll keep my business with the company thats not purposely holding back to artificially increase prices. Im waiting on pirate islands before I talk about upgrading from my 290x.

with gtx970 and gtx980 I feel as though they realize that noone would buy them at full price. So they already released them with prices (330 vs 400 and 550 vs 600+) as though a 980ti or 1080 was out. After living in asia and realizing the future of electricity prices, the red team is dead until they improve their performance per watt. Maxwell is a god send for me, but I will be waiting for a ti or next generation of it.
