Hello guys,
I curently have an old Antec case working very good with a x58 ftw motherboard.
IT is an atx motherboard. I see now that the new x99 motherboards are eatx...does it means I will need to buy a new case? I would like to avoid to change my case...
Thanks for your feedback!
Cheers!

I know that my EATX z87 Classified, which is the same size as the x99 Classified, barely fits in my Phantom 630 width wise, and it is meant for eatx.. I would say no, as it will cover the 24 pin clan gpu routing ports.

Thank you for your answer Scarlet. Does it means that evga does not plan to make an atx x99 motherboard? Asus, msi and gigabyte have !

Usually EVGA focuses on the high end, overclock performance boards.  This may not always be 100% true, but they usually have EATX or Mini boards.   They like to give functionality, which doesn't always work out (but they try at least), over all.

Yes first I thought like this but On the ftw99 specs they say e-atx.... I don't understand why evga don't release an atx version of this chipset...

I think the x99 classified is only an inch wider than a standard ATX board if that helps in deciding. I had an ATX mobo before I got the x99 classified and I didn't have to move any of the spacers around, it fit perfectly in my case.

The X99 Classy isn't a full e-atx.  It's only like an inch wider as ^^ said and uses the same screw hole locations as a regular ATX board.

Eight dimm slots take up quite a lot of real estate on the board itself compared to the common four.

I prefer larger cases anyways, tbh. Not just to "fit" components as that is just logical but also for ease of working within them and not having to sacrifice for space alone. Personal preference, of course. To each their own.
