Running an old X58 in a spare computer and it stopped booting up, I get no BIOS beeps and the LED BIOS code display is not showing anything, its completely dark.

I tried the usual reseating everything, pull the BIOS battery, etc but nothing changes.

Did this motherboard just bit the dust?

Is the power led on the board lighting up(should be a blue light by the 24 pin connector)? If not it's probably a problem with the psu.

Even a dead motherboard usually shows some type of lights. As tucker147 mentioned it is possibly a PSU. Do you have a spare PSU you can swap?

I do get the lights on the mother board and the system seems to have power when you push the power button, all the system fans fire up, but that is all it does.

I had forgotten that I have a PSU tester, I plugged the PSU into the tester and got all green lights, so it seems the mo/bo has deceased.

Yeah, seems like it's toast. I would check the cpu socket and make sure there are no bent/broken pins because they sometimes break over time.

Gonna be tough finding a new board with a 1366 socket.

A few tend to pop up on the for sale section every now and then. I'd also check around locally, I managed to pick my board & cpu up for a mere $140 from a guy that lived near me.

I just had my faith in EVGA pay off big time, it seems my board is still under warranty even though I purchased it June 8th, 2009 :)

Also, many kudos have to go out to Newegg.com for keeping purchase history and I could easily download the invoice and upload it to EVGA to complete my RMA.

I have been buying products from EVGA since 2004 and I cant imagine buying anything that EVGA provides from anyone else....ever!!!

    Lol thats great!
Also, if they can't fix it and they don't have any x58 boards laying around they'll probably send you an x79 board instead fyi.

Very nice! They are cross shipping a new board out to me, I was a little worried that they would not have an X58 to replace mine with.

i sold an X58 to a guy via ebay and he is getting the blue light but no boot. im guessing power supply. any of you owners know if im correct or was there something to the "stand-by" feature evga uses.  hes saying its because my "original components were not uninstalled properly"   (im a tech and i know that seems dumb but theres a first for everything. )
