Most likely I have terrible ventilation and relatively warm ambient temps around my computer, but my idle temperature sticks around 48-50c. As an experiment I jogged the fan to 100% and the coolest it would get was 48c at rest. I even tried lowering the voltage from 1.1 to 1.087, but it was pretty stubborn about sticking at that temp. I recently blew out the case of all the crud and dust, the card itself has nothing blocking it on the fan side and the case is reasonably well ventilated.
I see normal temps reported by most people are about 10 - 15 degrees cooler, and most everyone has the Boost version of the Ti. I have the mundane version. I already figured on the regular means of remediation, but I figured I'd toss it out there and see if anyone has encountered this, or if I'm just being lazy and need to excavate my rig and reinstall the hardware more sensibly (such as cables blocking the front/drive bays and fan from the back mobo exhaust fan. Little things like that which can add up to a few extra degrees over time.
Thanks!
