Can I step up to the 980 from my 780?

I built my PC around January of this year and did register my 780 since I was going to do the step-up to a 780ti, but that never ended up happening.
 
With the release of the 980, is there any aspect of the Step-Up program that 'reactivates' the program with the announcement of a new GPU? I'd love to get the 980 by trading in my 780, but if I can't get it through the Step-Up program, I'll just wait till the 980ti gets released.

    Nope, website states withing the first 90 days only.  
     
    3. Request to start your Step-Up within 90 days of your original purchase from your product detail page
    1. Navigate to My Products under Member Home
    2. Click on View Details of the product
    3. If your product qualifies, you will see the option to start your Step-Up

    That's what I figured. I'll just wait for the 980ti then and spend the next few months having to watch people upload photos on Reddit of their 980s. First world problems I guess.

    Depending on your version of 780 Ti it might not have been as noticeable a jump in performance.

    The higher the OC the more on par they'd be, from what I've read.
