I feel the same way, I have a pair of 670 FTW's as well. My only connundrum right now is do I got for the mid range FTW card, or do I go all in and get 980 classi's.... dilemmas...

Though I suppose I have a bit of time, they're not out yet, and even if they were EVGA's store is down every time I look, haha.

I'm glad because EVGA continue with nice models under FTW name.
Series GTX700 FTW was models was little in shadow of few faster and incredible Classified models.
Now for GTX970 is time to FTW again.

they don't mention the temp after overclocking...they say the peak temp while gaming is 66 and that's it...
also I'm confused about this part:
"we were easily able to push core frequency up to 1,315MHz..." that's kinda funny cuz the spec's sheet of GTX 970 FTW says :
    • Base Clock: 1216 MHz
    • Boost Clock: 1367 MHz
so they should have been able to Overclock it to 1400 MHz easily!cuz the boost is 1367 MHz....i will wait for other reviews this one wasn't exactly the the thing i wanted...

they don't say much about it...
"we were easily able to push core frequency up to 1,315MHz using the latest version of EVGA's PrecisionX utility. Memory quickly ramped to an effective 7,660MHz, though going any further on either front resulted in instability."
so to me 1315MHz was the highest they could go!

Isus, GTX970 FTW completely destroy my previous GTX780 Classified result and even AMD R9-290X in most important test Firestrike.
Best option... People finally play games like they deserve for 350$, for 700$ easy and smooth on 2560x1440p.
Near such card R9-290X is bad option and for 300$.

NVIDIA is proving that they can still make a really aggressive gaming video card at a good price. Whether you purchase an EVGA GTX 970 or EVGA GTX 980 it's an excellent investment for your money.

You didn't saw CASEKING sell 2xGTX970 SC ACX for 630e. and nice Bridge Pro in package.
I can't remember so much performance for such price... But their later model will be expensive.
We can expect 300-400$ more than GTX980 for 30-35% more performance, I think, 8GB memory and maybe 512bit.

Really nice card, but is it possible to get a Nvidia reference model? Want those extra Display Ports!

From what I can tell only the 980 has the extra DP Reference 970

OK so if you go around the Newegg product reviews the card is being bashed by people saying Coil whine is a big problem but most of them don't talk about temps...secondly I'm disappointed that there is no back plate on the card ( not even the FTW model )I'm gonna be honest...this register to get back plate is not for me...the closest EVGA representative is 2 to 4 weeks away and this is probably a USA only thing...and i would really be happy if it's per-installed so i don't have to open the guts of my case 2 times...yet there is no words that would say the next wave of cards will have the back plate per-installed...any comments on the situation?
