So should I try the benchmarking programs and see what the usage is on that?

You can if you like but it's not necessary. As long as you're below the power limit you're good. You can try and increase the voltage to maximum to see if you can run 150+ on the core.

Ok I will try and report back.  What is the max on the voltage anyways?

I removed GPU usage from the options on rivatuner so it would only display power usage and your right my power usage ranged from 65 to 75 percent.  Crysis 3 was much more demanding on my system then any of the above mentioned benchmarks.

1.212v. Make sure your fans are at maximum when running the voltage at max.

I clicked on unlock voltage control on afterburner, it restarted after burner and it enabled the slider bar to increase voltage.  Default is Zero and 100 is max.  Which should I Start with?

You can try increasing the power a little bit at a time, or you could just go straight to max, whichever you prefer.

Does 100% represent 1.212v?

Ok, so I wanted to be a bit conservative so I put the voltage to 75% because I was worried I would melt my cards.  I put the core to +150.  Power usage and temps seemed to be the same as stock voltage.  Crysis 3 was stable for about 3 minutes of play then it crashed to desktop with a display driver has stopped working error.

Should I go for the last 25%?

I went ahead and put it up to 100.  Power and temps were about the same as default.  Didn't work for 150+ on core.  I guess 100 is as good as it gets on that?  I'm still at 250 on the memory so maybe I still have some headroom on that?

Should I just leave the voltage on 100 then since I didn't get anymore out of the core with it?

Since you didn't get more core with voltage at max I would suggest you put the voltage back to stock. Having the voltage at max isn't going to help your memory overclock as the voltage is mainly for the core.

I would have thought increasing the voltage would have increased my temps and power usage but It didn't seem to.  Thanks for your help I will try more overclocking with the memory then.

If you didn't see an increase in temps it's likely because the BIOS already has it set at 1.212v already. You can see the voltage in GPU-Z. (VDDC)

Just to throw this out there.  My 780Ti voltage with the factory vbios boosts to 1.212v when needed without using any voltage adjustments.

Hey I noticed in the Afterburner properties when I had checked "Unlock voltage control" off to the side it says Standard MSI, reference design, extended msi.  I had it on standard MSI when I had tried upping my core speed past 100 and had crashing.  Maybe standard MSI doesn't allow for increased voltage past stock?

Ok so I switched it to the extended msi and checked unlock voltage monitoring?  Put the core to 150.  Put the voltage to +65%. Tried Crysis 3 for about 3 minutes then computer froze.  Had to hit reset.  That is different then what I got before which was a crash to desktop with a driver crash message. I'm guessing going the extra 35% won't make much of a difference or should I try it?  I'm not eager to make my computer completely freeze again.  Oh and temps were good.  About 63C.

No deal, it was a crash to desktop, better then a complete freeze up at least.  How can I tell if I am actually using the higher voltage?  I don't see that option to display it on rivatuner.

Read post #74.

NOTE: You may notice only one card is running at 1.2v while the other isn't... this is because GPU-Z reads the cards incorrectly. Make sure your cards are under load when checking the VDDC.

How come my power usage on my cards is around 70%?  I would think it would be maxed out right if I am utilizing 98% of the capabilities of the cards but why would the power only be 70%?  I have read through a bit on the overclock.net forum where I had downloaded the Skyn3t bios and other people seem to have to increase the power limit to allow past 100% TDP.  What is special about mine?

I checked out the ASIC value of my cards.  My first card was 61.5% and the second card is 79.5%.  Don't know if that makes any difference.

Most likely because of the game you're playing. Try running 3dmark11 using performance preset with display scaling mode set to stretched, you should see your cards use over 70% usage. My cards use around 90 to 100% when running 3dmark11.

So I "accidently" picked up a 3rd 780Ti off ebay for a good price.  I'm just wondering if my Corsair AX1200 will provide enough power for all this?  My 4930K runs at 4.5ghz, have lots of fans, Corsair h100i cooler, rampage IV black edition mobo.  I've tried some psu calculators and they seem to widely vary in recommending 1000 watts to 3000 watts.

3000 watts if your name is Vince.

If you're a normal person, 1200 watts should be sufficient, even with light GPU OCs.

Yeah I am only running +100mhz on core and +200mhz on the memory.  Who knows if I will be able to maintain those clocks once I introduce a 3rd.

Question for Sajin:  I don't have this 3rd card yet but I have noticed ever since I installed the Skyn3t bios my cards seem to run full tilt even at the desktop with nothing going on.  Consequently my fans on it are at like 75% speed.  I first noticed because I kept feeling "wiffs" of warm air hitting my face.  I figured it out that it was my GPU's running nearly full speed.  It is either the Skyn3t bios or the new precision X.  I got rid of after burner and went with Precision X not long after installing the skyn3t bios.  Is it normal for either of these to cause that?

Set PrecX to not launch at boot up and restart your computer.  Once in Windows, open GPU-Z to verify what your clock speeds are.  That should tell you if PrecX was keeping your clocks high or something else.

The card should downclock to idle mode even with the skyn3t vbios. It may be the new precision x. Do what bdary said to see if it's related to PrecX.
