Will the GTX 980 be available for step up soon? I only have a few days left for the offer and was hoping to pick up one of these cards.

    Hello Ephyon007,

The new series was just announced and released a few hours ago.  I can assure you that we are working on getting everything on our site updated to reflect the new cards that are available and some further information about the Step Up program.  Unfortunately there are no details that I can provide at this time, but what i would suggest is to keep an eye on the Step Up page for now until further information is provided.  We do appreciate your patience.

....that's a step down. The 780ti is better than the 980.

Are you sure? i would like to have a response from the mods because i have been reading reviews and bench all the day and the 980 outperforms the 780ti in all of them, but its true that the 780ti on the benchs dont know if its a reference model running at 8xx mhz  vs a 980 at 1200mhz, plus 4gb of memory and future possible drivers that improves the performance on the 980 makes me doubt seriously.
PD: Sorry for the bad english, is not my mothertonge... :p

Even if it does outperform them, I highly doubt they'll let u step-up from a more expensive card to a less expensive model..but who knows I  don't work for EVGA but I imagine that's an interesting request..

This card is outperforming the 780ti at this point. Not sure about the classified version, of course.

You could probably step up, but any money you spent over the base price, will be a loss to you. They will not give you the money back for going to a card that costs less.

oh wow. Well thankfully I didn't upgrade to the 780ti then. I've got about 30 days left on my step-up from my 770gtx so glad I decided to wait. :O  But yes that is a good point if they do allow you to step-up you aren't getting a refund for the difference in $$.

Im conscious that they dont give my money back :p; but my doubt its if the 980 will outperform my 780ti classified at 1250mhz taking in count that the bench showed compare the 980 against a 780ti at stock clocks, thats why i want to know if the 980 have more potential than the 780ti classified.

Look at the annandtech article.  It's a performance improvement (not leaps and bounds)...not sure if its really worth losing out on $150-200 or whatever you paid at the time but to each his own.

Looking at the anandtech article my doubt stay, they compare stock 980 vs stock 780ti but my ti is a classy one at 1250mhz, a far diference from the stock one, then i want to know if i should step up my almost 700€ 780ti for a new 980 even if its more cheap dont worries me, because if 980 its better whats the problem?

Linus Tech Tips did a YouTube video of the 780ti (reference) vs the 980 with both overclocked as far as they could. The 980 was a couple of fps faster. It was not a giant improvement, but if you are looking at the cost per Watt, then the 980 has a much greater proficiency overall.

What the major difference is between the 780ti and the 980 is more on the software side, the 980 allows Dynamic Super Resolution (DSR) scales games to 4k then downscales back to 1080p for a nicer image, seems nvidia are making it exclusive to the 970 and 980 for now to market the card better...

That, and the 980 has the same performance as a 780ti while using what, 175W instead of nearly 275w like my 780ti? Insanity. Even though I have a 780ti Classy I'm tempted, I live in an area where electricity can go above $0.30 during peak demands and the weather is still ~ 90F here. Though I will resist selling my 780ti, and hope I can step-up my 750ti to the 970.

Hope you get in done today EVGA but I won't be sad if I can't step-up. I'm just laughing I had 2 days left on it! Still hoping I can step-up though !

I will either find a way, or make one.

A bit gutted and annoyed that I had to go through a frustrating and unnecessary lengthy process with EVGA customer support to get a brand new replacement card shipped to me because the one I purchased beforehand was faulty, only to find just over a week later the new nVidia cards are announced and I qualify for step-up. Now if I do want to step-up I've got to pay an additional, costly amount for shipping...

Perhaps EVGA will be nice and allow me to step-up free of charge (inc shipping) for all the hassle I've had since purchasing one of their cards for the first time. But I doubt that.

And yes, I am being selfish. Just not a satisfied customer.
