After several weeks of grinding away on Core 17s without issue, I notice my PPD has plummeted. This wasn't immediate obvious, as it seemed to coincide with the stats server going down, but reviewing the F@H console shows a consistent estimated drop. Looking at the cores I'm getting, it seems like I haven't received a core 17 since the 11th. Any idea what could have changed that would impact that?

Are you running advanced, beta, or no flag? I checked my logs and I haven't gotten any core 15 assignments since the 10th, which was the last time I rebooted.

'advanced' flag. I'd actually BEEN using 'beta', but once I noticed the switch to only-core-15, I changed it over to 'advanced', still no difference.

I've been getting core 18's since 7/11. Running beta and have 2 x 660ti. Beta core 18 dated 7/11/2014 8:05 PM.
Does core 18 support the 780?

And this is the 680 in your Mods Rigs profile? If so, then I really don't know, and am guessing it's just the sometimes strange assignment logic. They did tweak the assignment servers a while back to send more core 17 WUs to Kepler cards, but they never said Keplers wouldn't get core 15. mGuyA

I don't see why not. I haven't tried it yet, but given it's an update to core 17, and core 17 runs fine on all Keplers, I would think the 700 series (excluding the Maxwell 750 Ti's) would be no different.

Did you get the core 18 update? Mine downloaded to C:\Users\<your name>\AppData\Roaming\FAHClient\cores\web.stanford.edu\~pande\Win32\AMD64\NVIDIA\Fermi\beta If you didn't you could tey the process in http://forums.evga.com/tm.aspx?m=2149461 to try to force the download. You will need to set the beta flag.

That didn't get me core 18, no, but at least I'm getting core 17s, again. Notably, *beta* core 17s, and that seems to help. Back up to ~90k PPD!

I am getting a mix of core 17 and 18. I am running with the beta flag. I am running with two GK104 gpu's. I haven't seen a core 15 in over a month. I am running client 7.3.6.
My beta core 17 exe is located in C:\Users\ME\AppData\Roaming\FAHClient\cores\web.stanford.edu\~pande\Win32\AMD64\NVIDIA\Fermi\beta\Core_17.fah and is dated 5/16/2014
and my beta core 18 exe is in C:\Users\ME\AppData\Roaming\FAHClient\cores\web.stanford.edu\~pande\Win32\AMD64\NVIDIA\Fermi\beta\Core_18.fah and is dated 7/11/2014

Yeah, I tried the 'deleting the cores folder' thing, again, and I'm not getting ANYTHING but core 15. Not 17, not 18, no beta cores, nothing.
Tried restarting a few times using either the 'advanced' or 'beta' flags - no good. Only get 15s.
Seems like the app has decided it hates Maxwells?

Not running ANY flags, and I get a mix of both x17 and x15 cores on both GTX 480 and 750 Ti systems. theGryphonI've been cursed with Core 15 in the last few days. I don't know what's wrong. Been at beta but advanced gives me Core 15 too... Gryphon, I talked to someone at Pande Group and they conveniently said they'd make sure you'd get only Core 15s from now on. Can't let you pass me that easily...

I picked up Core 18 under the Beta Flag on my 780 cards last week. My bad fix for Core 15 was to Fold only on my AMD Cards. I ran my GTX 780 last week to see how well the new drivers ran. 79

Yeah just picked up a pile of core15s on both the 670s and the 780 machines. Time for some mmaintenance until it clears I think. :-)

I received one or two core 15's over the weekend but have been on 17's for that last couple days. Using -advmethods flag.

Core 15 was written in CUDA, so it's always been Nvidia-only.

I tried switching the 670s to advanced flag. It kinda worked. I'm back on x17s but they are real dogs. tpf> 16mins and returning 45k ppd. Only good thing is they do run everything cooler by about 5°C.
Is it safe to go back to beta flag yet?

Well, I switched it back to 'beta', and just let it run a few days - I have picked up a FEW core 17s, now, but not commonly.
Strangely, my 'beta' folder is showing beta core 17s, and beta core 15s. LOLwut?

Ran the Beta Flag on my 780Ti's, and as soon as the 2 of the 3 WUs finish, I picked up 2 Core 15 WUs. Deleted the Beta flag, and all 3 finished and picked up Core 17. The 760's are currently running Beta Flag and have 2 Core 15's running, so I am removing that flag to see if it will pick up something better. *edit* The first 760 just finished up a Core 15. Picked up a Core 17 as soon as I removed the beta flag from the equation... Have only had Core 15s coming in a for the last week so far. I suggest would removing the beta flag to see if it helps.

Good suggestion, I'll vouch for that too. I haven't been using any flags and my 480 is mostly getting a mix of 17's and 18's.

Yeah, that's what I finally had to do. Ran nearly a week on 'advanced', getting nothing but core 15 after core 15, tried 'beta', gave it a few days and saw the same thing, ultimately removed all the flags and at least now I'm mostly getting core 17s.
I think it just hates Maxwells...

At least it is an easy fix. Maybe they flagged Core 15's simply because everyone wanted Beta/advanced scale PPD, and doing so made sure that Core 15's were accomplished as well?
No idea if that is anywhere near accurate, but there is always the possibility.

theGryphon Been at beta but advanced gives me Core 15 too... I am pretty sure the -advanced flag is for the SMP client. The GPU clients should use -beta flag, if you want any spicy new units. But, as a side note, weren't those reserved for the folding beta testers only ? Core 18 supports even GTX 460 though, the production is abysmal like 1.6k PPD on Core 18.

Yea, they are horrible and the drop gets worse the faster the gpu gets because without bonus points they scale so bad. I've been a little lucky in getting core 18 and a few 17's. The ppd drop on core 18 isn't so bad with the gtx 470 because its not all that fast anyway, go from like 25-30k to ~23k. Not sure they will but they should add bonus points to core 15
