I will stick with the reference cooler for my 980s. I think the ACX coolers look cheap and fugly IMO.

Nice video, I feel something nice improved this time for class.
Looks like they will use best model of blades similar as on GTX780Ti Classified and KP Classified version 2.0 ACX.
That's best model of blades, Swiftech Helix, Gentle Typhoon and all silent fans with best Air pressure use such shapes.
Rattle sound was more problem of heatsink than fan... Probably little bigger holes or thin gently fins or similar thing.
But such fins are best for cooling.

But will the fans run lower than 40% ???

    That is the question!

I too am not impressed with the ACX cooler, I have to use evga precision to up the Temp Target to 90c on my GTX 770 so it doesn't downclock on me. (I'm not even overclocked either, running at out of box settings)

Case airflow is not a problem either, the top of my case is blowing out cool air even when the card is at 100% load.

I just hope the higher end maxwell cards don't run this hot....

That's pretty much what HardOCP had to say over 12yrs ago about evga new gpu heatsink. That earned them a spot on evga blacklist.

I have not had one single issue with the ACX on my GTX 770. If anything this card has run cooler and quieter making the investment worth it. Still can't wait to see what EVGA has cooking for their new version.

I'm impressed too, but with ACX on GTX780 Classified and same blades are on GTX780Ti Classified. Probably is same on Superclocked models.
K|NGP|N version 1 is more noisy.
After I decide to cross on GTX780Ti and guy who bought from me was impressed with only Air noise from fan.
He ask to hear fan on 80% 2-3 mins and nothing else, Immediately give nice comment because it was obvious that fan work fast and no motor sound. He say immediately This is completely silent because he thought to keep always on such speed.
But GTX780Ti KP Classified should came with blades same as on GTX780Ti Classified immediately.
