I remember this game before All the other space games on EGA graphis (NOT VGA)
this is before wing commander or any modern space game

WOW Im impressed

being a space pirate was important in that game picking up Floating cargo and ship parts from disabled or wrecked ship with tractor beams
and manual docking with space ports that are MOVING...ie spinning rotating on 1, 2, or 3 axis and/or sidways

Yeah, I have been hearing about Elite:Dangerous for quite some time, glad to see it really coming into it's own.  Much more a sim than WC, but both series's were great, but largely for different reasons.

I have been hearing good things about it from a couple of critics that i respect and trust their opinions.

The videos and streams i have watched also looked very promising.   Not going to get into these games until i am able to invest in a stick setup.

If i am going to put aside time to play,  it needs to be the full experience.  I've played through many flight sims/dog fighting games just with keyboard/mouse.  It works,  but i'm personally never doing that ever again.  Doesn't seem worth it to me.

I played a lot more racing/driving games when i picked up the G25.  And had more fun.

I didn't mention it,  but how some people are scrutinizing the scale, ambition of SC.  It may take 3, 4, 5 years for the game to be the complete "everything" that they have promised.

There is a SC Wiki that has compiled info for the game and the "modules" released so far.  And it projects the "Full" game for end of 2016.

Elite Dangerous is planned for Q4 2014 and i think that is looking good.

If you want to play Elite...its in Beta and you can purchase it right now and play

The learning curve to these games is gonna get us
A lot of keys to get a handle on

definitely invest in a stick because playing on a mouse Suxs  ...believe me I know - Switched from mouse to keyboard for better response
and get one with lots of bells and whistles - your gonna need the buttons

My Logitech pad is not recognized and it still doesn't have enough buttons either

They have different focuses. ED is highly procedural. I've had ED installed for about 6 months now.

Procedural, how so exactly?  Could you give us some more info on it and form your experiences in game?
