You also have to realize that it was 55% complete by June last year 2013 you start with a skeleton crew at the onset for each re-iteration - by 2013 they were just ramping up with the completion of other projects -like skyrim when programmers are freed up

Games don't just get magically finished and released out the the blue. There's months and sometimes years of hype leading up...especially something on the scale of a proper Fallout sequel. I'd be shocked if it's even released anytime in 2015.

There were roughly 6 years between the release of Oblivion and Skyrim. I would expect a similar, more than likely greater, amount between FO3 and FO4. This would set a release date sometime in early 2015, but Bethesda has been doing fall releases for the last couple years. If there isn't at least news by the end of 2015 I would be surprised, but I'm about 50/50 whether we see a game in 2015 or 2016. There's no possible way a release date in 2014 exists. Skyrim was announced roughly a year before it's release (11 months exactly). A triple A title like FO doesn't just drop out of the sky on an accidental digital listing. It doesn't matter how far along in development they are. The game could have been finished 3 years ago for all I care; there's a lot of marketing that goes into a release like this, and we have yet to see any.

And that date is pure speculations... an opine - not something from Bethesda never assume guesstimation are true the announcements will be made at EGX not by a website that is barely recognized the fact is we gave had elder scroll games and fallout every three years from each other last FALLOUT was 2010 - that's 4 years you want to push it to 5 or 6 if we go 2016? elderscrollsdaggerfall 1994 redguard and battlespire 1997 morrowind 2002 Oblivion 2006 Skyrim 2011 ESO 2014 (avg 4 years) Fallout fallout 1997 fallout II 1998 fallout tactics 2001 fallout brotherhood of steel 2004 fallout 3 2008 fallout :new vegas 2010 fallout 4 ? avg (3 years) Web news/rumors had Fallout 4 on a private/closed doors preview to selected people at E3 that's Trailers and actual gameplay also to note there will be more than 1 game coming down the pipes - soon on fallout think New Vegas 2(or something like that) to drop soon after so they are working on more than 1 at this time they are still using the engine used on skyrim rather than using a new one - however they revamped/tweaked the engine for next gen so expect more eye candy And of course any news is speculative...specially when Bethesda isn't talking you get every tom dick and harry chiming in along with fake stories and clips Also of note - both fallout 3 and Fallout new vegas were released in October so take any news with a grain of salt including this one - I'll see it when it happens update: Never ceases to amaze me what you find online FAKE(I believe) or REAL http://www.falloutboston.com/ And don't ask me about FALLOUT 4 beta keys people can use google Also of note Elderscrolls 6 ...assuming Black Marsh is coming 2016 - thats 5 years after Skyrim It's also in FULL development right now - assume about 50% done

Lots of salt needed. I searched and boy did i find a lot of clickbait headlines... It hasn't been officially announced right? And there i see these news titles hinting to a release date. I had fun with Fallout 3 which i didn't have time to complete. I just can't see myself going into F4.

Fallout 4 announcement will be anywhere from the last quarter of this year to the first to second quarter of next year. Then I bet we are waiting a good 2-3 years until we see it for sale.... My guess is they will have to learn the dx11 x64bit workflow, unlesssssss they strip it like they did with the gamebryo 4.1 engine gutting it of DX11 and x64bit support. Yes Skyrim could have had DX11 and x64bit support-.-........ Many people do bash that engine but did you know that any game that is open world that has to push a ton of pollies 9 times out of 10 will use the gamebryo engine? Also many of the wacky things that go on with it are on the developer end when they gut out what they don't want, or add in things they use in their workflow. If your buying into that lame german site on release date then just like Butters puts it in the South Park Episode/episodes Winters is Coming. Announcer:The South Park video game, coming to stores soon! Butters:[pops up onscreen] Yeah, and if you believe that I've got a big floppy wiener to dangle in your face!

IF this is true, I think its about dang time they confirm or deny it. It was despicable that Bethesda allowed others to lead us on with the survivor 2299 crap. Not only did they allow it to drag us all along, but cashed in on the frenzy. Sold all the fallout swag they could before the sites cover was blown and refused to denounce the site because it was helping them sell stuff. Then just laughed at us as they rolled around in their windfall profits from sales of fallout gear. Slap in the face to fallout fans if you ask me.

I loved Fallout 3 and New Vegas, I can't wait for Fallout 4, bethesda better NOT screw it up and hurt an already great game series, if they would just keep the same feutures and gameplay as Fallout 3/New Vegas, and add a new storyline, map, side missions, enemys, etc it will be perfect.

I agree with you here, but couldn't a similar argument be made with respect to fallout? eg. "The reason for the big delay between Fallout 3 and Fallout 4 was because they also made Skyrim in between this time. Fallout 3 in 2008, Skyrim in 2011, then Fallout 4 in 20??. Then there are the expansions/DLC for each game. " I very well could be wrong as I have no experience with development and release schedules, but adding Fallout into the previously Elder-Scrolls-only schedule may make this increased wait time between sequels of the same franchise a regular thing. Xavier above also noted an average release span of 3 years for Fallout games citing 6 different games, however Bethesda has only developed one of those games. We can't expect Bethesda to operate under the same span as Obsidian/Interplay/Black Isle/etc. Regardless, I really do hope it gets announced soon. I can't wait to see Fallout on the Creation engine.

Yeah the argument goes both ways. Bethesda only has one big development team that is responsible for both Fallout and TES. Fbmbirds Wasn't Fall Out New Vegas a stand alone game? No mention of it here regarding when it was release. Sure you have oblivion released 2006 then fallout 3 but what about fall out new vegas.
New Vegas was developed by Obsidian opposed to Bethesda Game Studios. That's why its writing was infinitely better than Fallout 3 and anything Bethesda ever made. So its impact on the other games' release schedule is quite minimal.

What Ive been able to find out from sources According to the previously leaked plan Bethesda plans to release a new internal project each year. In 2014-2015, it is planned out Fallout 4, and in 2016, Fallout Online. Between series should be a new single-user project from the world of Elder Scrolls. Fallout 3:2008 Fallout NV:2010 Elderscrolls4 2006 Elderscrolls 5 2011 Elderscrolls online 2014 ..... there is suppose to be a : fallout 4 (2014) Elderscrolls 6:Black Marsh/Argonia (projected release 2015) Fallout online (2016) (Zenimax) Fallout 5 or sequel to Fallout :New Vegas(2017)? they want a 1 year separation in the rollout apart for each so they can use the teams from one to the next if you look at the dates of ES4 ES5 and ES6 they are 5 years apart if you look at FO3 to F04 they are 6 years if you use NV it's 4 (and NV was an outside gamemaker) going by a 5 year to market from 2008 they should have had FO4 done (and fallout has always had a 4 year to market roll out) and news from june 2013 has F04 55-60% done - give 33% done per year from 2012 (skeleton team in 2011 only) so add another 33% for 2014 (remember you are ramping up staff on project too) also remember voice over casting was opened up last year - generally you don't change voice overs(voice scripts) once you hire people the scripts are done - the actors come in record months before product is done (and that's happened already) you then may change some things( slight wording change) and have actors maybe tweak or change something before release voice overs only take a few months it's basically one of the last things you do before release along with bug checks and other tweaks it's probably why three dog knows more than you think three dog has been hinting all year including the last bottle cap remark this month and during the month of sept - i don't suppose anyone has noticed that he's been playing fallout 4 type of music frank sinatra, nat king cole...etc just check erik todd dellums twitter account https://twitter.com/ETDellums there is also an issue with console releases as we have seen in ESO... the console release was delayed much later - like 6 months to a year things like new consoles, different DRM different systems, console os and updates, servers, awards systems - big mess to straighten out for various systems so it's quite possible to have PC released digitally before console just like what happened with ESO this could explain all the different time quotes - like them saying PS4 release of FO4 won't come til next year PS: anyone remember the XMAS card they posted last year skyrim wreath over fireplace with Fallout cyberdog on the floor Skyrim was released in XMAS - dec 8 (digital nov 11) I wouldn't be surprised by this as bethesda has done surprise releases before ...they refused to confirm skyrim or a release and then the popped it on everyone before XMAS there is some talk of Oct on or after oct23 (on the date of the Fallout war) and some posts saying not before the war this still falls into a digital and official release schedule like happened with skyrim

Xavier Zepherious well Erik Todd Dellums (Three Dog) tweeted "Get ready to use your bottlecaps"
Well, technically, his exact quote was "Ready to use your bottle caps?!" Not sure if that makes it better or not but I'm holding my breath, I want it to happen badly!
Ready!!!!!!!!!!

Xavier Zepherious ~Amended for brevity~
Do you really think that Fallout 4 will be released in less than a month with no official announcement or hype? It doesn't matter when it should be released or even when the game is finished. As many others have said in this thread, there's just no way a company would take that huge of a risk to release a game with no marketing. I could still be wrong of course, only time will tell, but it's wishful thinking to believe we'll see a Fallout game this calendar year, let alone within the next 12 months.
