Thanks dustingg for posting this thread (along with Asus Forums Thread on G-Sync).  You've convinced me to wait until the 2nd gen G-sync LCD's come out and\or nVidia matures the drivers.  What a headache you've gotten.  I will just enjoy 30" a little longer before I plop $800+ on a G-Sync LCD.

My issues aren't with Gsync, it's with SLI

Gsync work amazing, just not with Gsync for me at least. This is an inherited SLI problem

I doubt it.  ASUS forums show exactly your experience with one high end GPU and lower.

It's not across the board however.  I have Titan Blacks in SLI and I'm using the ROG Swift without issue.  Many folks are.  Some are not.  Accordingly I think it's a driver issue and very game specific.  For example, in BF4 is you use the refresh mod and set your refresh at less than your monitor refresh (143mhz in my case), stuttering is gone.  Other than BF4 I haven't had an issue.

Well speaking from being a user of 3 different Gsync monitors

ASUS VG248QE modified Gsync
ACER XB270H Gsync
and the ASUS ROG Swift Gsync

single card Gsync works amazing. SLI is issue I have.

I've been on the Asus Forums. Those threads sound like user error. Most of those folks aren't even sure how or what settings to use for Gsync.

I am also loving my Swift monitor & Gsync.  No issue's here after roughly 2 weeks of use.  About 15 hours of Batman AO, played through Tomb Raider, Crysis2 & 3.  About 3 hours of BF4, a couple hours of Wolfenstein.  Everytime I fire up a game and play, I'm amazed how great everything looks & plays.

I have been running g sync and SLI for a couple of weeks now. I have zero issues. No crashing, no stutters everything plays smooth. Windows 7 64bit, NVIDIA 340.52

BF4
Titanfall
BF3
Tomb Raider
SC2
Diablo 3
LoL
Medal of Honor Warfighter
Crysis 3
Star Wars The Old Republic (Everythings maxed out for ridiculousness sake) No jaggies smooth as butter
Need for Speed
CoD Ghost
CoD black Ops
Team Fortress 2

While there are some folks that have had quality issues with the Swift. I've noticed more than a few of them are suffering from "operator error".

NVCP "manage 3d settings" are default except for the following:

single display performance mode
prefer maximum performance

My video cards are running at default speeds with a custom fan profile temps never go above 65c.

Have you tried a completly different SLI system? My friend brought his system over to my house to test G SYNC on my monitor with his PC. His ran like garbage he has 670s in SLI. He blamed his video cards. So I put his 670s in my system to test them out and G SYNC and SLI ran smooth as butter. Seeing 3 monitors tested with same results using the same system could be a clue that there may be a flaw in the system itself. Only one way to find out and thats a different computer all together maybe?

Yah I don't know, I think I'm just sensitive when it comes to SLI. Single card always has seemed so much smoother to me.

My SLI rig is the only SLI system I have and have test Gsync with. I don't know anyone else that has an SLI setup.

Ok I've given this 340.72 driver a shot and WOW! a huge difference in SLI. I can actually say I'm okay with SLI/Gsync I wouldn't say totally content since single GPU still feels superior with Gsync.

As for the future. I'm done running SLI. I don't like worrying about SLI profiles, if a games going to support SLI and poor scaling.
Now that we have Gsync once there's a beef cake enough of a single GPU that can run 2560x1440 in the 70-90fps range I pulling the trigger on that card.

I am glad that worked for you. I'm pretty confident it is driver issues that need maturing do to the scarcity of GSYNC monitors that have been out in the wild this far and the huge number of systems that need to be retro compatible. I would agree that the better companion for GSYNC is a single GPU system as that's where the benefits of GSYNC really shine. But there will be a lot of SLI systems that will capitalize on the benefits as well as they age.

yah i'm with you on this. I was hoping it was just a driver issue. I hope it keeps improving with feature drivers.

Still though, Now that we have Gsync my feature builds will be single GPU setup.

Latest Driver 344.11 has made SLI and Gsync work right. SLI is still SLI and will never feel like a single card but at least it's functioning like it should.

Good to hear...

I always figured when I finally got my Swift, that I'd feel the need to go SLI again, but I never did.  Everything plays well at max settings that I have.  I did reduce AA in a couple games to keep FPS over 50 (Crysis3).  But in most cases the games play at around 80 - 100fps average.

Needless to say, I don't feel the need for SLI and will look at a 980Ti if & when they come out to compare my card to.
