4gigs in slot ( 1 ) = boots
4gigs in slot ( 3 ) = boots  ( 8gigs )
4gigs in slot ( 5 ) = boots ( 12gigs )
4gigs in slot ( 7 ) = NO BOOT ( 16gigs ) ===> GIVES ERROR 67

Have tried switching memory between slots, only seems to be slot ( 7 ) that is the issue
Updated to the latest BIOS

Thoughts??, do I need to RMA the board??

Newegg or EVGA?

Thank you :-)

Ok, this is how I corrected this problem :-)
The ( 2 ) brain cells in my head somehow touched each other and a small light came on above my head :-)

    4gigs in slot ( 1 ) = boots
    4gigs in slot ( 2 ) = boots  ( 8gigs )
    4gigs in slot ( 3 ) = boots ( 12gigs )
    4gigs in slot ( 4 ) = boots ( 16gigs )

YAY, 16gigs of memory available :-)

Are you still using the memory in quad channel?  Did you notice that the memory slots are numbered this way: 1 2 3 4 8 7 6 5

    MOBO:   MSI x570 Unify
    RAM:   3600 Mhz b-stock
    PROCESSOR:   5800x
V-CARD:   EVGA GTX 1080 (waiting in queue for a 3080)
    PSU:   EVGA 1300W Supernova

    Hi Rob,
You need to clarify what you mean exactly by slots 1 - 4, as if they are four slots on one side of the CPU socket, you won't get quad channel speeds as they are meant to work together in a set of odd or even numbers.
The system may well recognise 16GB RAM, but if they are in 1-4 they will work as two pairs of 2 x 4GB in dual channel only.

I DO NOT want to keep it & I want to RMA it if I am going to be losing proformance??...this thing was $400.00 :-(

BTW, just got this from Tech Support

    Hello,
Did you swap out the DIMM module in slot #7 and test in a different slot to make sure the issue is not with the memory itself? You may also want to check for bent pins in the CPU socket since that may also cause some weird POST problems. As far as affecting performance, if the system is posting without any issues besides the memory slot in question, the only thing that will happen is you not be able to max out the supported RAM according to your processor.
If after further testing the slot continues to exhibit the same behavior, please let us know so we can go ahead and assist with a complimentary advanced RMA which will also require that you upload a copy of your receipt attached to your registered motherboard.
    Regards, EVGA

I apologize for any miscommunications here, however that will take the memory out of quad channel mode.

I recommend reseating the CPU and retesting also inspecting for bent pins,  Simply over-tightening the HSF/WB for the CPU can cause these issues.
If all looks well and the issue persists, this is either CPU or motherboard related.

As mentioned already Rob, I would make sure you have the RAM in the correct slots. It is kind of confusing actually. One would simply just count strait across thinking Slots 1 through 8 are sequential from left to right, unfortunately this is not the case. Also try rotating your RAM around and see if you can follow the problem. If you can, you very well might have a bad RAM DIMM. If not, I would try what was already suggested and try re-seating the CPU. If you have the classified version of the X99 you could try a different BIOS switch position (I believe there are 3 on this board).

What speed and make of RAM are you running? Is it on the motherboard compatibility list?
Click the link below and choose X99. Make sure your RAM is on the list.
    http://www.evga.com/support/motherboard/

You could try putting the RAM back in Slots 1-4(so it will boot) and setting up the XMP profile this would ensure the correct timings, Save settings, then put RAM back in slots 1,3,5,7 and see if it takes off? If you have high end 2800MHZ+ memory, you could try under clocking it, saving it and trying slots 1,3,5,7 again. If all else fails, looks like you might be in need of an RMA. While you have the RAM in slots 1-4, try running Memtest 86+ to ensure your RAM is good. Some of this might be rather overkill in testing, but you never can be to sure...

That's unfortunate, but CS will get you taken care of, no problem at all there.
And I hear ya, once you have worked on computers 8+ hours a day for 10+ years, sure a random project can be really fun, but swearing at your daily build trying to make it work, really has lost its fun.

Well, RMA'ed the board into EVGA...
They have had it for ( 3 ) days, all they can tell me is that it came in with " Bent Pins " in the socket, no word on what will happen at this point
I have been building systems for awhile and have NEVER had a bent pin issue, guess I will have to wait and see what they tell me about repair / replace?
The ASUS Rampage V came available today, but I will wait :-)

EVGA says bent pins in the CPU socket, so I had to pay a $70.00 repair fee
Wonder when I wil get any board back now..

I have the same issue with my X99 Classy, Cpu Intel 5930, 16 Gb Corsair Vengeance 2800. I have inspected the cpu socket and it's fine.

I got the NEW board back, even tho I have built MANY systems...I am going to pay a local guy that builds custom PCs to put the system back together for me...Just to be on the safe side...Haha
I have alot of money wrapped up in this thing and I do not want to have to keep sending it back in to EVGA if I " did indeed " bend the pins in the socket?, PAYING $70.00 a shot

All I can say is the memory better work correctly in slots 1, 3 , 7, 5 AFTER all this
