Ok, this is my first time on the x79 Dark.  What I noticed was that I am stuck in PCI-E 2.0 at all times, even under load.
1. Does that have an affect on my performance?  I feel it may, as I am used to running PCI-E 3.0x8 on these cards.  Currently, all three, under load (90%+ most of the times) will not go to 3.0

I did go into the advanced tab, and realized that they were set to 2.0 on all lanes, so I changed that, and updated it to 3.0 on all, and it reports in the bios that it is currently at 3.0....  So, when I get into Windows, and look at GPU-Z, it is reporting 2 still, not 3.

Any ideas how to correct this, or is it reporting the wrong thing?

Like I said, I have been on z series boards, so this one is slightly new to me.  I am currently working to overclock, and have only made it to 4.2ghz on the 3930k so far, and have yet to start pushing the chip.

    Your using Sandybridge-E

you have to use the Nvidia reg. fix

even though in the BIOS you have your PCIE set to 3.0 it won't work until you use the Nvidia fix.

I see you have 3x 780 Ti. After some time, could you tell us :

    - if you get better performance at Firestrike, Unigine or other tests (on my side, but with non-EVGA X79, I got nothing more with GEN3 enabled and NVidia reg fix, but I don't o/c...)

    - if you have problems with your SLI (on my side : one or two cards randomly "disapeared" ; I even believed I fried one !)

I had to disable GEN3 and uninstall the reg fix, and problems where solved.

I'd like to know if it was X79 related (GEN3 not officially supported), or if it was mobo related (slightly different PCI controller).

why make it simple when it can be complicated ????

    rig 1 : Asus P9X79-E WS / i7 4930k / 3-way SLI EVGA 780ti / Quadro K2000 / watercooled / 3D Vision Surround / 3 x Samsung 2233RZ + HP ZR22W
    rig 2 : Asus P9X79 WS / i7 4930k / 2-way SLI 770 / aircooled / 3D Vision / Samsung 2233RZ + Samsung 2232BW + HP ZR22W
    rig 3, 4 5, etc. : uninteresting !

I have Rev 1.0 and have not run the cards through Firestrike as of yet. I need to reload all of the programs, and then I can run the tests and see if I can get the differences for you. It will be this weekend at the earliest.
