So I have a gtx 580 and it has been giving me fits the past few months. At first I had assumed the card was dead but I put it into my other rig which runs an apu and it worked flawlessy for a whole weekend. I thought maybe the power supply was the problem so I upgraded from a 650w to a 750w and that did not change the issue. I then thought it was the motherboard potentially. So I then changed the motherboard and no such luck.  However it did stop doing the DVI no signal and started going to only a black screen and then restarting.  I also did a fresh install of everything on a new hd.  At this point I'm out of ideas, I have practically built a new computer minus the processor and ram. Also these setups have been stable when I remove the 580 and put in a old 9800gt. Any ideas? I just don't understand why the 580 ran flawlessly on one pc but refuses to run on my gamic pc but an old 9800gt works fine.  Does anyone have any ideas of what to try? Also keep in mind for 6 months the setup was perfectly stable with the 580. So any suggestions would be appreciated. Oh also when it first started the DVI no signal nonsense it happened once every two weeks and then became extremely common happening sometimes during start up. I also tried all ports on the video card with the same result.

What are the specs of your systems? That can help greatly to determine the troubles with the card.

Yes full system specs would be helpful. Did you also make sure to use the proper DVI cable to the monitor? Maybe also try another cable.

Are you running the latest video drivers 340.52? If so, try installing drivers 337.50 to see if it corrects the problem.

I have tried Old drivers, new drivers, wiped all drivers tried again, did a fresh install of windows. The only thing that changed is that when i changed the motherboard it changes from saying DVI no signal(which would result in all the system fans spinning at full speed for a few seconds before going back to normal) to just all out freezing or doing a reboot.  I have checked the cable tried different DVI ports, tried the mini display with the same issues.  I really appreciate the help and suggestions and I will keep trying them. You guys are awesome.
