I have EVGA Dark x79 with i7-4930k. Earlier today I pulled out a stick of ram from my rig to test another board and i think i accidently pulled out the cord for the cpu cooler, it ran for a little while longer then turned off and started freezing on me, tried to restart it and it kept flickering, then i realized the cooler wasnt plugged in and the block was emitting a ton of heat... Now I let it sit for about 4 hours and its still just flickering on... I'm not sure how long i left it running without the cooler plugged in cuz I don't know exactly when the cord got pulled out. Anyway now its still flickering or not posting and staying turned on with DEBUG code "C" just "C" not "C0" or anything its just the one digit "C" I'm not sure what that is, is it safe to say the $600 processor is fried from this or could it be something else? (Thank god I invested $25 for the Intel Tuning Protection Plan so I think I can get it replaced)

I think your CPU is toast man. 3 year warranty on those CPU's so you should be good.

I use aid64 to monitor my temps, if anything goes over 60c my system shuts instantly. And it works well because I've hit that temp before on the CPU. I have AIDA64 running and monitoring both my rigs. I don't worry about thermal melt down or a pump going out.
