I did not include services as EVGA has proven that their services are top notch. They have proven their GPU's are top notch. They have recovered  and proven their PSU are good quality, even their mouse got good reviews. Their motherboards have fallen and fallen hard, since the x58's, they have been disgraced. The reviews I did were feature/specs only, because they need to prove their Mobo's are worth buying. They have yet to show us a board with SATA-E, they have less 2 phase vrm than other boards meant for OC'ing. Once I get my computer blocks done and get this into the system, I will probably ask EVGA forums for assistance in getting the best OC on a 5960X and we will see together whether they proven themselves. I have ordered mine from NE, so there is no cherry picking with this board. If there are any issues such as USB and such I will post them. If this board is so horrible that I can't even work with it, then I will simply cut my losses and have everyone see from my experience.

So why did I got with the X99 Classified? Simply because I am a novice OC'er. I want something between the Gaming9, whose features I find not worth 50 dollars, and the XPower whose OC'ing benefits I would never meet. I would never use LN2 or delid a solder'd CPU. I will never run 1300W through the CPU. To me the Classified despite its apparent flaws was a nice balance, and I required a M.2 SSD for my upcoming build.

I hope that me performing this will help others also decide whether EVGA has proven they can build decent Mobo's again.

eVGA has alot to reprove with their motherboards. Id love for my next mobo to be an eVGA, I just dont see it happening. Overpriced and rushed, and and what seems to be very little R&D, QC and reliability.

Overclocking is only one part of what makes a motherboard great.....

I jumped on the Classified, I will try to get a review out (as soon as I get the board back) and hopefully others will too. I agree they have to reprove their boards and right now the specs are against them. sigh maybe we might see a classified v2, or heaven forbid another dark...

Though if they do another dark, I might just give up EVGA for good, was disgusting how that was handled with the x79's. Hey we messed up, pay us more for actual working board.

^This cannot be repeated enough!
If they do something like this again, they better have a big shovel to
dig their own grave.

(Google z97 classy reviews). Sry won't let me post links

There are reviews where ppl get better stability on OC with lower voltages. These board for main stream are very stable OC's. I have not looked at ln2 OCing with evga boards. BTW evga boards are great for learning how to overclock. Have fun with it and POST results. Can't wait to get mine. Problem is my x58 is still kicking strong ;)

I sure wish GunSlingerOCS was active he'd have some good opinions... Anyways as a new serious overclocker I'm leaning towards the Xpower... I now look at what will help me achieve the highers oc down the the .01MHz... I look at gaming last... I want to set records and bench under LN2 the X9 Classy just doesn't work for that this time around...

The z97 boards seem to have good reviews.  What makes us think the trend won't continue or even imporve?

a single board does not mean all the boards will be good. The X58 classy's are great example. X58 classys were the pinnacle, x79's were horrible. X99 I pray is a pinnacle again.

I must say I am surprised someone from EVGA hasn't stepped in here to say something.  My board will be here Tuesday.  Replacing my board is a massive undertaking.  No reviews yet either.

eVga makes the best quality boards, hands down. I still have happily running wife computer on eVga x58 Classified with 990x. My machine is running eVga x79 Classified, yes I had some usb 3 issue until 2.06 bios release and everything works ok. Every USB3 works fine. And also my file server runs on eVga 780SLI -> running 24/7 for the past 3 years.

As I said there are no better quality and more durable boards than those eVGA makes.

We need more posts like this. I have been running x58 classi strong for several years now with no complaints. I have some friends that have x79 platforms from evga and they all say the same thing. 79 was rough at first but the team at evga fixed those problem over time.

I've decided to wait.   Like people say, you never buy the first model car, right?  I had BIG probs with the x79 classified.  then I switched to XPower II Big Bang and have been sleeping well at night ever since...

buying evga g-cards--totally no brainer!  they rule the business.  motherboards on the other hand???  well... I've decided to wait a month to see what manufacture comes out on top in the stability war.

I'm still in. My board comes tomorrow. I can't build the rig until the weekend but by all means use me as a conduit for us all to feel OK. I'd like to explore the issues people are concerned with. Tell me what to test. I'm here for the clan! (Also wants to confirm mobo works).

I will wait too, 3-4 months if not happen something unplanned and I see chance for cheap upgrade.
I want to wait to hear some news, but I don't want to wait too much.
I love to enjoy whole period in some architecture. OK we will have time.
About 18 months minimum before first DDR4 show up with Skylake.
I think that would be more 24 months. But upgrade in first 6 months after 2-3-4 months looking would be nice.
Now when I saw everything I'm not hurry at all.
Only one thing is sure, Processors are 99% excellent and missing this I see same as missing Sandy Bridge and that would be very very bad waiting something better.

Sounds Like a Plan gutcheck, My X99 Classified and 5960X also comes tomorrow and after I finish installing My Four KPE's along with the 16GB Corsair DDR4 2800 and connect the Chilled Water setup to it, I venture a guess that I'll probably Find out pretty Quickly if I encounter any Problems when I start some Overclocking and Benchmarking Sessions.

Quality over quantity, maybe.  But what about quantity of quality over less quantity of quality?

I don't think anyone would say that MSI XPOWER's 12 phase digital PWM is low quality when it includes DrMOS MOSFETs, Hi-c CAP capacitors, and SFC inductors.
