So I already know about DBAN but I do not have any disk and would rather not have to buy any just for this. I am curious if you guys may know of any others that wouldnt require a disk or at least maybe a usb where I can wipe the old ssd and hard drive I will be selling soon.

Wondering if CCleaner would do the job?

Thank you for any suggestions, have a nice day.

The only one I have used in the past besides cc cleaner is System Mechanic and it uses a disc. Unless you can find it online. It is a awesome wiper. I use it when I cant get rid of nasty viruses. I unhook internet, put disc in, restart computer. It will wipe 1,3,7& more but depending on size of hard drive, On the amount of time required to wipe disc . I made a mistake and did (maximum wipe) with zeros at end on a 500 GB platter took 7 days running 24 hrs a day.

The Ultimate Boot CD contains DBAN and several other wiping tools.

    Customizing UBCD
    Extraction

First, extract all the files on the UBCD to a directory on your harddisk such as c:\ubcd-exracted (pathname may contain spaces). If you wish, you can directly extract the files from the ISO image using a tool such as 7-Zip or Daemon Tools.

You should have a directory structure that looks like:

    c:\ubcd-extracted\
      boot\
      pmagic\
      ubcd\
        custom\
          custom.cfg
          custom.lst
      autorun.inf
      license.txt

    Making UBCD memory stick
To create a bootable UBCD memory stick, at the command prompt, type:

    cd \ubcd-extracted\ubcd\tools\win32\ubcd2usb
    ubcd2usb c:\ubcd-extracted x:

where X: is that drive letter of USB memory stick, which is assumed to be already formatted. If it is not already formatted, or you wish to force it to be formatted, you can add the /f switch at the end:

    ubcd2usb c:\ubcd-extracted x: /f

Either of the above will create a bootable UBCD memory stick in X:.
Note that booting a USB memory stick requires BIOS support and is only available on newer machines. You can also expect to encounter more compatibility issues compared to booting from a CD, and some tools may not work properly when run from a USB memory disk.

HOWTO: Use DBAN on UBCD to Wipe a Hard Drive

    Hiren's BootCD should also work.

Why not create the USB as a bootable ISO image and utilize that method? Having to buy a DVD just to wipe a SSD is not necessary if you happen to have a USB flash drive available.

    Thanks for the info guys.

The Ultimate and Hirens Boot CD USB guides I posted before have several wiping tools, including DBAN, and a USB option. Here's another USB guide for just DBAN.
