RHMash has selected World Community Grid to be his pick for Project of the Month. I don't think he has any preference for which project you choose to run, just as long its something from WCG.

I will be doing the stats updates every 5 or 7 days as we go along.

Not sure what I will be running. I might just stick with the Clean Energy Project and get it up to a gold badge to match my Mapping Cancer Markers badge. Fight Aids At Home is last on my list. I have issues with running that project. The Vina application has serious problems on my systems, it likes to hang up and just sit there for hours, if not days, on end. WCG/FAAH will not let you opt out of one particular application like other projects will.

I'm getting everything set up at the in-laws.  I might dabble a bit i the POTM but it won't be 24/7 like I was able to before.  It hit 105 outside yesterday and I can't afford to skyrocket their electric bill right now.

+1 to AB's post.  Switching over to WCG now, all other projects have been set to no new tasks.

Here are our numbers for the start of the month for WCG.

World Community Grid stats at the start of 9-1-2014

    Free DC: 68 (186,962,546 points)*
Formula Boinc: 12 (24,096,276 points for the year, 0 FB points)
The Vault: 30 (9,978.11 Vault points)

    World Community Grid internal rankings:
    Total Run Time (y:d:h:m:s) (Rank): 672:173:10:27:26 (#118)
    Points Generated (Rank): 1,307,448,558 (#68)*
    Results Returned (Rank): 2,610,643 (#69)

Since we are not aiming at any particular project I am not going to break it down per project. Just a word of caution, don't expect any huge gains with WCG. Its a immensely popular project and to make any headway at all, in moving up the ranks, is going to take a lot of points, millions of points.

*For some reason Free DC does not report actual WCG points. There is a conversion that comes out to 7 WCG points equals 1 Free DC point. I have no idea why Free DC decided to do this but that's how it has been done for very long time.

WCG exports six times a day I believe to external stats sites. http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=2024 However, I do not know the frequency that Free-DC or any other actually attempt to pull. From comparing their stats with Free-DC's, HardOCP looks to only have about 250k difference in points after doing the 7x conversion. One could argue it is merely delay in exporting. And to be fair, BOINCStats matches what Free-DC shows for us... I wonder if that difference is from back in the UD days before BOINC. WCG has never fully addressed the issue of fixing that conversion.

Two new announcements on WCG beta tasks...

     link
    New BETA test - Sept 10, 2014

We have started another new Beta test for World Community Grid. This is similar to the one run a month ago using a new science application. This version has fixes for invalids as well as changes to the result output. This test will have 3 different types of work units. The average runtime between the batches will be 30 minute up to 4 hours. We will be sending out 4500 workunits with a quorum of 2.

    FightAIDS@Home - VINA Android Beta Test - Spet 10, 2014

We are starting a small BETA test for Android on Vina. We will be running 700 work units. The version will be 7.32.

Checking in on my rig, I notice the CPU is running at half-capacity.  I see the following from WCG in the BOINC Manager log...

[error] Can't parse file info in scheduler reply: unexpected XML tag or syntax

The WCG forums already shows a thread on this issue, so people are looking into it.

Just wanted to point this out in case someone besides me didn't have a backup BOINC project waiting in the wings.

We have had 90F+ this week and this weekend is going to be in the mid to upper 80's F.
I only have my 2P running WCG now and testing some GPUGRID Tasks over this coming weekend.
Next week we are looking at mid to upper 70's F.

I have to apologize. I fully intended to do the stats numbers for the month but I just didn't get it done. We have had my father in and out of the hospital twice in the last week to 10 days.
