It was my understanding that the release date was today. In the past there would be several midnight reviews and the chips would be available online to buy. I can not find any of that. Has the release dates changed ?

Hahahaha.. Once again, rumor as fact? People shouldn't have put all of their eggs in a basket for today, I am guessing.

Nope, not one single advertisement at all. I haven't been to Seoul in a few weeks, where the main adverts would be, but usually there is something at least.

I will look this afternoon. Would love to see the people that grab them in store (not sure if motherboards will be released at the same time) just to see first reactions by people that aren't paid and sponsored by Intel. I am honestly more frustrated seeing sponsored people rave about how good something is, and not talking about how it doesn't meet expectations big brother had put out.

Just checked, they are up now also: http://www.newegg.com/Pro...mp;N=-1&isNodeId=1 Edit: it seems they haven't loaded any data about them. They are not able to be found using the basic search functions, have to look directly for them.

All the Asrock boards on newegg.ca have a $40 rebate on them atm. That brings the extreme 4 down to $220 cad ($202 usd).

Yes, that's correct. NDA was until 9am today. Should be a lot of information and boards to look at, as other members are reporting.

looking at everything...... I am thinking that 5820k with motherboard, ram and cooling solution for about 1k USD would be a great upgrade from my I7 950 gets me in on the starting floor of ddr4 for the cheapest possible price plus two more cores for future games when they start supporting more cores. I feel this upgrade would last me for atleast three years or more. I would eventually upgrade the video card with the next generation mid range solution

People I think we should ready sharp knives, looks like i7-5960X is performance and OC killer and we can offer kidneys on black market. Even i7-5930K will be faster than i7-4960X. Intel prepare excellent processors these time.

That's what the reviews seem to be saying. It's about time for me to start upgrading my X58 rig, and the X99 should be the best replacement for that.

Off course, this is good chance. If someone had money for eight core, performance are excellent. Only look difference 3960X and 4960X are similar usually and than 5960X far better in multi applications.

I am starting to consider selling a kidney for a 5960 and making it a dedicated loop to keep it chilled.

Believe me I would bought 5960X immediately even for gaming. No matter if I give last cent from pocket and because I don't need for gaming that CPU. Turbo is 3.5GHz... With custom loop you can keep on 4.5GHz and to stay far from degradation point. 8 cores, 4500MHz, DDR4, for memory I would not buy more than 16GB 2400MHz... For me that is not so important. That would be rig, GK110 boost on 1200MHz default, 5960X on 4.5GHz. Later some M.2 device, not immediately, for 7-8 months when offer become better....
