I've received Two 780s as an RMA for my 580s, the thing is there is this smeary crap on both cards... possibly flux or something, I dunno, just kinda unsettling to see you know, is this okay ?

He's unable to post pics or links for a few more posts (anti-spammer measures).

Most likely it's just flux or cleaning solution leftover.  Send the picture to support@evga.com so they can take a look at it and help, if needed.

Yeah! I agree with NordicJedi. Probably just flux residue from the manufacturing process. I`ve seen traces of such stuff on several of my cards and have not seen any harmful effects due to this.

Good catch. After seeing the 580's, I would love to see the pics of the 780's. This should be interesting.

here's the photo, it's much more noticeable when zoomed in a bit, I wanna say it's flux or something, it's in the exact same spots on both cards, just wanted to check since on the 580s I didn't notice until they were well broken in but this is right outta the box, they DO function just fine atm, actually I'm quite thrilled with them.
Oh and the spots on the 580s were not the reason for the RMA... They started getting really hot.

As mentioned it is probably flux residue but if you have any questions contact EVGA Tech Support

It looks like either flux residue or PCB conformal coating applied unevenly (maybe you are seeing the edge of selective conformal coating due to only those sentitive areas needing conformal coating) or conformal coating applied to a slightly dirty surface. It shouldn't cause any problems.

I agree. Also, if the cards should give you any problems, then contact Evga Support.

He got 2xGTX780 for 2xGTX580... Is it stable in 3Marks? Is it stable in games? No visible damage? Work?
Drive and sing. Install backplate. First little with isopropyl or normal alcohol and backplate over...
Important to work in applications you use.
In Belgrade you will got new GTX750Ti or used GTX760.
