Well, I had a stomach ache that started yesterday, and now I am in the hospital waiting for results of my CT scan. The doctor is pretty certain it is appendicitis, and by the pain it caused by her pushing on it I think it is too. I most likely will have surgery tonight. This hospital runs a tight ship and the nurses are great. Girlfriend is at my side.

Will do, thanks guys. Doctor is reading the CT report right now and then will give me the news. As for everything else, blood pressure, kidneys, liver are all excellent.

Thanks, they are prepping me for surgery in a few. I just signed the permission form for them to give me drugs and cut me open and that I understand the risks.

I am awake and in recovery now. So I had a laparoscopic appendectomy, so I only have 3 tiny holes instead of one big incision. The surgical team was amazing. On a morphine drip for pain and I am so thirsty. I might be out of here tomorrow some time. Thanks for the well wishes.

Tell me how long it takes for your full recovery and how badly the pain is with pills instead of an IV.... I would like to compare it with the gallbladder removal, But I don't want to have another surgery just for comparison purposes.... LOL.

Glad you are OK ! water is best for thirst, just wondering what the thirst is all about ? Need more Whiskey ? LOL I would imagine it had to do with the drip used.

Thanks, I am at my girlfriend's place now. They released me to go home with her because she is a 4th year nursing student....otherwise I would spend the night in post-op.
The food here is WAY better....as is the bed.

Glad to hear it went well. I went threw the exact same procedure a couple years ago. My appendix was in really bad shape and Dr's said it would have probably burst within 12-24 hours if I hadn't gotten surgery. It was incredibly painful, and this was after a week long flu, I literally didn't eat for about 10 days and was in bed the whole time puking when I tried to eat and drinking a ton. It was not fun at all. I have the same 3 scars as you as well.

Yes, I can thank my girlfriend who is a 4th year nursing student for strongly encouraging me to go to the ER. I would have waited another day or so if I was on my own lol. Much better now. A little sore but I had stopped taking pain meds.
