new card installation

hey guys..
 
i have installed this new card geforce 8400 gs on my G31D-M7 mobo but its not displaying anything.. and i the onboard graphic card was disabled so i didnt get any out put out of both them
 
- PSU is 500W so there is no prob with 
- the fan of the card is running so the installation was proper 
- i made sure i connected the cable the right way so no prob there 
- no beeps out of the mobo

    addition 
    now i put the VGA card back on and the onboard VGA is working but there is no display from the other one. 
    and i cant see it the device manager :(

    Jacubt, perhaps if you can provide your system's specs we can go from there to narrow down where the issue could be.

    Hello, Jacubt

    Another thing you would want to try is to test it in another computer whether it be a friend or family member's computer. This will give you a better idea of what may be causing the issue, whether it be the video card or another component in your system.
    Please let us know of the results so that we may be able to assist you further.
