Congrats! Now time to get a nice, good gaming laptop to go with the travel ;)

Exactly!  Here's what I'm thinking but am definitely open to suggestions for either something of similar performance at a lower price, or greater performance at the same price.

Nice! Please keep us updated I was just thinking about this yesterday haha.

Also, if your gonna be doing a lot longer commute, I would recommend getting a beater civic like a 92-95 VX or a 96-00 HX. The VX just driving it to drive it with the A/C on will net you 43-46mpg, with careful driving it's easy to hit over 50mpg. With my HX, before I swapped in a taller geared tranny, I got 40mpg without trying. I know your gonna be making more money now but, lower insurance cost (due to an older car) and lower fuel costs always feels good.

That's not a bad idea.  The only issue is that I will be travelling quite a bit within a 4 state area, so I'm going to need something I can rely on.  My wife and I are thinking about trading in or selling my SRT4 and getting her a minivan.  Then I'll take her 2011 Dodge Avenger Heat.  It gets around 32 HWY and has been a rock solid car for us since we got it new in 2011.  She needs the bigger car so that my kids can have friends come home from church and we actually have the room for them and also so that we can take our dog places with out him climbing all over us.

Nah knight, The minivan makes sense for the wife and kids. Once you add in friends you need something bigger to haul the soccer/football team around in.

Hey Tweaked, I hope it brings you happiness and fulfillment!! Best of luck in the new job!

Depending on how many kids you have, a VX might be perfect for you, we all know how reliable Hondas are. There are a few members on ecomodder with 400k+ miles on their VX's. Also, VX gets 50mpg without trying as I said before. And the difference between 32 and 50mpg is a lot of money. I used to drive 40 miles each way to work, and my '95 camry got 32mpg, I burned through about 60 bucks a week in gas, sometimes more if I ran around town. After I got my HX, I went from 32 to 44mpg and from 60 to 38$ a week in gas. Besides that the insurance will be almost nothing on VX because they are so old (VX was only made from 92-95). Up to you, just giving you options based on personal experience.

Also one more thing to think about is, do you really want to rack that many miles up on the new car?

If you decide to go with a VX, make sure it has the D15Z1 engine and not some B16 swap.

Sorry I haven't been around much.  The job has me travelling quite a bit, and not all hotels have free internet.  At least not until you hit a certain level on their rewards program.  Anyway, I just wanted to give you guys an update.  This are going swimmingly at the job.  Shortly before I hired on, AMX was acquired by Harman Internation to be part of their Harman Pro family of products.  If you don't know, Harman Pro is the parent company of other brands like JBL Pro Audio, BSS, Digitech, SoundCraft, Studer, Crown Amps, and Martin Lighting.  As an employee I have access to all of these products at a stupidly insane discounted price.

However, not all is greener.  Along with the acquisition came new Health plans.  In this new plan which goes into effect Jan. 1, I will be responsible for paying all medical costs upfront until I hit my deductible of $1600 for the year then it's 80/20.  This is worse than my existing plan.

Glad the job is going well. Sucks for the insurance, but with a 50% pay raise, you should be able to afford it.

Great to hear your new job is going well for you! Do they only offer one option for insurance? No PPO or HMO choices? I could see where the deductible would be an issue for some...
