Just a heads-up the SETI page is only showing 3 MultiBeam tasks and 0 AstroPulse tasks left to send out.  The admins are aware, just didn't want anyone here to be caught flat-footed wondering why there was no work.

EDIT: already back up to 1000+ tasks so it may not be an issue afterall

Also, teams above doesent have Our hourly Production.
This may be bacause of several issues.
Bunkering. They have bunkered, but doesent have the stamina to keep it up.
Then again, this Project doesent pay what they expect, especially GPU wise, they jump off.
Watch their hourly Production, we do real good.
Heh, the world may notice EVGA in this one.
Go hard

They had splitter issues. One tape has been stuck for several days. One of the beta testers sent emails to everyone he could think of and it took several days to get a response. Supposedly they have since fired up some more splitters and the work que is filling up again.

Here is a forum discussion about it if your curious.

EDIT: An hour later and we had taken 8th place then promptly lost it again. Boinc.Italy has just got on my bad side. I will be tossing in my i5 and i7 laptop as soon as they finish up their Simap ques. Doing Seti tasks on a CPU is not very productive but maybe I can get enough points out of them to make the difference so we can finally leave Boinc.Italy in the dust.

Both my 2P and 4P are no longer receiving GPU Projects.
All my Window GPUs are getting them fine.

Grats Viper, good to hear all is done and overwith. Guess it has been busy times

We're biting to a 7th, but Team China may seem a bit strong. They have a tad stronger rac than us atm.
Bad timing to have a 760 on RMA now, but I added a 2core with a GTX690, we'll se how long we can keep the distance.
On the other hand, we are 7th among 132 teams, and 807 participants.

7th, 8th or whatever, we still rock

Really Close, I add my 3 Titans today.
I the Temps were not so high I would add my 3 GTX 690s back, maybe I can run them only at night time.
I cannot add my GPU back on the GTX 690 Rig now so I will wait till tonight.+

WOW! not the best time for them to do maintenance!
SETI@home is temporarily shut down for maintenance.  Please try again later.

It is really sad that at my work place I am the fool at what I do with Folding and Crunching.
I am so glad that the Teams on EVGA are so Great, Members getting together like we do for a cause.

No kidding, I'm currently unable to get more/return work!  I'll have to increase my work buffer to 1 day or so in BOINC Manager to cover the next time they take the servers offline.

This happens every Tuesday and I suspected this one to take a bit longer than normal. I set up some back up projects to kick in if it did take longer. When things clear up it will probably take me 6 to 8 hours to clear out the work from my back up projects and get back to Seti with everything. Right now my systems have Simap on the CPU's, and Poem on the 780 Ti and GPU Grid on the 680.

While having the servers down for four hours slow things up some, the really big wait is for the servers to catch up with task uploads and downloads.

The fifth day of the contest has concluded, so lets see where we stand from the day it started until now. (Our Free DC numbers and the contest numbers won't match because of the contest did not start at midnight on the 15th, which is when I take my numbers.)

Free DC: 729 (19,438,045 points, up 3,651,825 points from midnight on the 15th) Up 92 spots!
Formula Boinc: 37 (11,454,185 points for the year, 0 FB points) Up 4 spots!
The Vault: 120 (9,880.58 Vault points) Up 5 spots!
Seti@Home internal rankings, RAC: 44, Up 128 spots!
Seti@Home internal rankings, Total Score: 711, up 101 spots!

Dang spiffy for around five days work if I do say so myself!

This is getting interesting so I am going to try and get back to doing the numbers every night again. No promises though.

I am running late on this event. However, I registered and setup my Linux host with an AMD R9-290x to run MB and AP. Electric costs are high until November and as a result, I have some hardware offline as needed.

I lucked out as my last bill was under $800, this summer was cooler than last year.

Thanks. The boost is noticeable. Our RAC has increased the past days. We was hanging at 20k ish for a while, today we have passed 27K.
We will not leave any breathing room for our Chinese crunching friends.

I got my RMA'ed 760 replaced today, and it was chewing SETI WU's less than half an hour after I picked up the package.
Also I re-allocated one of my 690's. It had extremely low performance compared with my second 690 (in two different rig's)
I assumed an old 2core and too little memory bottlenecked it. Now it crunches happy together with the other 690.
I hope this "Tuning" will help.
Also, I must keep bcavnaugh buzy, he must not go lazy on us

Thanks for joining the contest linuxrouter, great to have you on board.

Part of our RAC boost may be due to getting AP tasks too.  If so, it'll be a rising tide that lifts all boats.  Keep the pressure on!

Been beating up on CAS while they have work available.  Surprisingly they actually had more than three days worth this time around, but it looks like they will soon run out.  Once that happens I would like to join this POTM, but for some reason I am unable to register.  The page comes up but it won't let me enter any information in the fields.  Did they shut down registration when the event started?

Re: EVGA POTM August 2014 SETI@Home Wow!-Event 2014 - 15th August Thurogh 29th August 2014 2014/08/22 16:17:00 (permalink)
Your too late I think. I think I remember reading they had to close down letting new people register after the contest began. I can't remember the reason behind it though.

EDIT: I went looking and found this on the Seti forums.

The Wow!-Event is going on, but the registration page is disabled.

Everything went right for 2.5 events but yesterday the Wow lost its innocence. Until then, it wasn't hard to subscribe, even for other accounts. But yesterday afternoon, somebody found funny to register new crunchers every minute (randomly in different teams and different groups, so I can't and don't want to speculate about the culprit).

However, as I'm working during the Wow, I don't have time to loose on a wild goose chase, the registering form has been deactivated (and will stay like this this year). For the next event, we will need to find a new way of registering.

In this context, about 80 crunchers were deleted (I try to verify the registrations and I hope I didn't delete honest and interested crunchers).

I'm really sorry for that but we have enough honest crunchers this year, and really, there was enough time to register before. What we have achieved doesn't have to be weakened by a false record of members.

Sorry for crossposting in news thread.

Thanks for that news Khalifrio. I would rather read it here then somewhere else.

Thanks for the update Khali.  Disappointing but perfectly understandable why registration was shut down.  Yes, there was plenty of time to register before hand but honestly I wasn't even considering joining this event until recently.  Well, there is always next month!  Good luck to the rest of you!!
