i put a custom bios on it and im still not able to get a decent overclock at all. i have the skyn3t.rom/bios which gave me 1.21 volts and power target of 150% but the card wont stay stable at even 1202. with no overclock on the memory.

i have a ax860 psu so plenty of power for the card.

i personally have bought 5 cards for my self from evga over the last few years. not to mention whenever someone ask what card to get i always say evga no if and or butts because all my other cards were great at overclocking (even though the weren't sold as to be great overclockers ) i'm really disappointed with this purchase! ive got 4 other people to only purchase evga cards. i don't think ill buy evga ever again/recommend them either. this card is aimed at overclocks and mine wont even go over 1202!!!!!!!!!! i finally spend the money on a big boy card and i get a waste of $ 800 form the card and back plate. i mean yea its on air but its in a case that has amazing air flow with all fan slots filled so its not like its hot as balls in the case. it just feel cheated by purchasing this card. its not like i even want a insane overclock just a little to justify the mark up on the card! can i some how get a better one or is there a way to get a little more performance out of it without damaging it.

The 780ti classified is already massively overclocked compared to the vanilla GTX 780 so if you're expecting even far greater overclocking than that it's a luck of the draw.

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X,  Corsair Mp700 Pro M.2, 64GB Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5  X670E Steel Legend, MSI RTX 4090 Associate Code: H5U80QBH6BH0AXF. I am NOT an employee of EVGA

We see posts like this time and time again.  Every card will overclock differently.  All you are guaranteed is that the card performs to the advertised clock speeds.  If it does that, your card is performing as it should.  Even though these cards are designed and expected to be overclocked beyond stock, there is no guarantee on how much or how little they will.  It is all a gamble and the "silicon lottery" on how lucky you got with the chip.

However, to really get higher overclock, you need to apply more voltage.  To get higher than the 1.21V you will need to use the Classified voltage tuner.  This will allow higher voltages.  But it is used at your own risk.  It would best to have a digital multimeter handy if you plan on doing this to get accurate voltage that your card is seeing.  It is not wise to rely on the accuracy of the software reporting.

If you have an account over at overclock.net, follow this link to all the info you need and more:
    http://www.overclock.net/t/1411500/official-evga-classified-owners-club

I know its disappointing to not get the results you want, but as long as it performs to the advertised specs or greater, the card is operating and performing as it is guaranteed.

edit: Keep in mind, your card is able to get to 1202MHz.  Advertised clock speed is guaranteed to be 1020MHz per the EVGA literature.  So your card is already overclocking almost 18% greater than advertised.  That is already a pretty decent amount.

First, what overvolting program are you using. Are you monitoring voltage on the card, with a multimeter or through software (if you say software, then it is definitely wrong 100% of the time).

It amazes me every time I see these type of posts who are willing to ditch a well reputable company after being with them for many years just because they didn't get a top overclocking card in the GPU lottery. Especially since you have had 5 GPUs from EVGA that you were completely happy with. I'm not sure if you know this or not, but ditching a company for that particular reason will not fix anything. Try a different company if you like, but you'll still be playing the lottery no matter what. With your mentality, though, you'll be back to EVGA pretty soon.

Hood, have you tried the EVGA optional bios? I use it over the third party bios options, and get really good performance out of it, personally. Just curious if you have tried that as of yet. If not, EVGA_Chris would be the one to get it from, or through tech support. I have had really bad luck with three Classified cards and the Skyn3t Bios Revisions.

well oldly enough this is my third card im tired of rma cards so i plan on keeping it till it dies. the first one i got had terrible fan noise's so rma 1
rma 2 one didnt work right as they send you used cards. now im on my third card yes i got the bios from evga chris even with that this card wont barley do 1150mhz. i guess the way i typed it earlier wasnt the best way to handle it but im frustrated to all hell. im just looking to get 1250ish to like 1300ish on the core and like 3700 on memory. this card does have good memory from what i can tell.

Both the EVGA and skyn3t BIOS completely borked my Classified when I had it. I stuck with the stock LN2 BIOS and was at 1240mhz/7950mhz

This is worse explanation why someone want to buy other brand.
Fact that you hit few cards and all of them OC well is luck... What you expect how long that will stay like that.

Other brands will not get better chip than EVGA and their fabric OC is usually less than EVGA.
And you can't get always nice chips, among chips who OC very good they probably pass and some samples capable to OC 40-50MHz over fabric overclock and only with more voltage... and someone get them... GTX780 Classified is 50$ over reference model, people who want to buy nice processor 100% good for OC pay 500$ instead of 300$ from someone who search best samples... You can buy 90% here under price used Classified capable to OC 1300-1350MHz in Benchmarks and 1250-1300MHz in games if you want.

I love to OC too, nothing better than 15% faster card than with NVIDIA reference boost.
But for me is more important to play on faster card than NVIDIA specification than I to OC card and play in benchmarks and later to play on lower clock. No matter who OC, only is important higher than NVIDIA specification and if such clock is write in BIOS than even better.

I understand you but no such brand and model at this moment on market who will give you 15% faster card than NVIDIA GTX780Ti and warranty for 15% more OC stable where you want, always, no matter on driver or different hardware and OS. Simply something like that non exist. Many people is ready to pay 200$ more for such chip. Every producer can make 100 cards, someone even less and customers will be angry because crazy price and because no money to pay that.

Are you just playing games? If so, just leave the card at stock clocks.

EVGA Software is correct. Which classified do you have? This one or this one?

if my overclock can make it throught 3d mark 3 times all the test's does that make it stable? the core is at 1228 (boost) and memory at 3703 that's all i really wanted out of it on air.
i have a nzxt g10 but not sure if those are really safe to put them on? cuz the ram would just be out in the open with out much cooling except passing air from my front 200mm fan.

You can easy to look version of your cards, in GPU-Z Default Clock should be 1020MHz.
It's not bad as you thought, my even crash in Sky Diver, I don't know why.

The nzxt g10 will not require the removal of the heat plate that is used to dissipate heat from the Ram, so it should be fine if you get airflow over that area. I personally wouldn't put a $25 fix on a $750 gpu, but if you decide to, it should be OK.

yea i hear ya. no i feel like a dick for what i said to start the the thread. sorry evga i take it back. its a good card. i do love it.
has any one ever used a nzxt kraken g10 on this card?
i have the g10 and was thinking about getting the x61 with push pull i think thatd lower the gpu temp alot but the vram only get a 92mm fan and the vram is in the open so im hesitant to do it.

I have not, but you could always place another fan on the other side, or even get side intake fans to blow directly over the VRM and memory. The x61 would definitely lower the Core temp a lot, and would definitely decrease the overall temps I would think, as the Core wouldn't be spreading heat to the heat plate anymore.

if my overclock can make it throught 3d mark 3 times all the test's does that make it stable?

No, it means it's stable for 3dmark. Games use the GPU differently than 3dmark.

No, it really isn't cheap, but it is fun :-) I prefer benchmarking to gaming, and can't get fast enough... Ever...
